Whelan,I finally got my Frosty and the paint is in bad shape... dull and stained... i need to know if claybar alone will pull stains out of white paint? Someone mentioned using that Weslies Bleach White on the paint in small patches and beeing weary of removing it in small patches as well... Thoughts?? I know you haven't used the product yet, that is why i'm asking your thoughts... I'll try and get pics of what i am talking about ASAP... it's been raining ever since i got home with no signs of letting up anytime soon... But, i'll see if i can get a decent pic in the garage...
I would start with a good car wash soap like Mother's California Gold, suds the car up real well. Then get the Clay bar system. Either Meg's or clay Magic or the like. I would definitely give that the try first as the clay system is about $10 for the kit and you should do it anyways. I def. and I'm sure others wanna see your Vibe, Congrats btw!
Well, i did the car finally and, although it looks better, the paint has a satin finish on about 80% of it... I did the claybar, Megs paint cleaner(2-3 coats in places) Mothers sealer glaze, mothers pure carnuba and even some eagle 1 nano wax to see what IT would do.. With everything done you can still see stuff in the reflection from a shop light... looks like calcium build up from a few years of no washing... It really looks like it will need some professional buffing to get the surface smooth again, but, at the same time i have satin white paint now...
Hmm, typically I've used the sealer glazes as a top coat for the wax. The paint cleaner may also not be strong enough. You may want to pickup a bottle of #83 from Meg's since that stuff is really good, then move up to the paint cleaner then wax. May be able to save yourself some $$$ from paying a buffer. But I will tell you in order to work 83 by hand you need a lot of elbow grease.

The paint is just etched from the acid rain in buffalo and lack of washing by my grandma, can't blame her though, i wasn't there to keep up on it for her...
Here is what #83 Professional looks likeAnd here is there 3 step Consumer brand paint cleaner The 83 is powerful stuff, if you have adjustable speeds on your buffer, like say 1-6, set it to speed 4 or 5. You will need to put a good 15-20lbs of pressure on the wheel when working the 83 and go in small 2x2' sections. Going up and down overlapping half the pad, then back and forth, then up/down and back/forth. The product will look almost clear, then you can wipe off and see what you got.Its a hard product to work with but the results are amazing. Since you already waxed and glazed you may want to bring the paint back with a wash and clay bar using a very small amount of Dawn to remove all the previous cleaners so you can get down to the paint.
Oh, no that is not the stuff i have, what i have is a part of a system, but, it is in the regualr maroon bottle... Dude, to be honest.... I LIKE the satin finish...Heck, i've thought about taking a scotch brite pad the the shiny parts...LOLers..... Mmmmmmm Satin white.... (I may not even be keeping him, look in the lounge for details...hehe, details...lol)
