Before I bought headers for my car, I bought 2 cans of 1500 degree paint from a speed shop. This does for anyone that wants to argue about it. I took off the heatsheild and exhaust manifold. The pre cat also came off. After cleaning off any dirts and rust I sprayed everything down. I let it dry and applied another coat. I then put everything in the oven for 30 min. at 250 dgress. I let it cool and then did 30 min. at 400 degress. I let it cool and finally set the over for as hot as it would go. It might have been around 500 to 550 degrees. (Make sure to turn on your exhaust fan on your oven) I let it cool then the next morning installed everything back on.At first I didn't notice anything and figured damn I just waisted my time and money but after it warmed up it was alittle stronger off the line and all the way through the power band. After coming back home I popped the hood and could touch the exhaust pipe (with out being burned) 3 minutes after shutting the engine off. It's very cheap mod and you will pick up alittle HP. For every 10 degrees you lower underhood temps is one HP more.If I have confused you e-mail me and I'll walk you though it.You can also use a even better high temp coating from Teegarden Motorsports Specialties
http://www.teegardenmotorsports.com I used this on my headers and it's great. You could use it on a intake manifold also and it would work better than the 1500 degree paint. I just didn't know about it when I painted my manifold.
