Dates for Michigan meet this summer

Post by Triton »

This poll is to get a majority vote on what date we should have our get together. This will help members plan in advance for this event. It will also help rasermon and I narrow down to final location. We don't know the exact location as of yet, but we do know that it will be in the Fenton/Flint, Michigan area. We are going to tally the results of the poll by Monday, April 28th.Please make your opinion known so we can finalize a date. Also, if a specific date will not work, post that in a reply. We want to be able to accomadate as many members as possible.

I think we also better come up with a back up date incase it rains.Maybe June 21 and June 28---if it rains on the 21st.No one wants to show off a dirty Vibe.

Well folks, it looks like we have our date set for June 28th. We are looking at having a back up date two week later on July 12th. The reason for the skipped week is because of the 4th of July. We want to make sure as many people can come as possible and the holiday may interfere with some members being able to make it. We will post a location as soon as we have secured one. Thank you all for your votes. I would like to know how many are members are saying that they will definately make it and how many are possibilities.

I will definately try to make this meet. Around this time, June-July, I am going to have to help my parents start moving. I may also move with them, but I'm not sure at this time. There are a couple Matrix owners that live in the Michigan area. If and when the location, time, address, flyer, etc is put up, I'll post it on matrixowners.com and matrixvibe.net. I'm sure some of them will be interested. Hopefully, by this time I will have some more mods on my vehicle. I'm looking to get Tein coilovers, hotchkis sway bars and stb by this time So mark me down as a good possibility! -Slink

I believe that rasermon is going to be looking into a location this weekend. We will definately let everyone know as soon as we find out. I was going to post in MatrixVibe.net when we have more info and if you would like to post in Matrixowners, that would be cool as well. We would just like to know around how many people are looking at coming. We don't want to meet somewhere and it not be large enough for all who come.

I hear that. There was a Toyota meet at a Toyota dealership. It was fun. They let us use one of their corners and it was all good. People were pulling in to meet us and show off their Toyota...I don't have a problem if you guys could get a Pontiac/GM dealership to let us meet. I'm not sure what they would say about Toyota coming , but some dealership are cool about that stuff...-Slink

I just caught wind of this site from Matrixvibe.net, I live down in Ohio but goto school up in Michigan. I plan on coming up to check my apartment out over the summer so if it falls on the right weekend I'd stop by. The only thing I know about Fenton is that Joseph Dealership with the corny commercials. I've got a Silver Matrix, base, auto, but it is fun to have in NE Michigan where they don't really exist.

I've lived in Michigan since the fall of 2001, so far I have lived in Midland, Bay City (Auburn), and Saginaw. I'd have to say that Saginaw is the busiest, Midland is the worst, and Bay City has a Hooters that's waterfront. I'm pretty familiar with all the main roads in all 3 towns. I've probably passed you and didn't realize it, there are 100's of Vibes around. Even the lady who cuts my hair has a black one.

I got this Vibe to make people think I'm young. But lately around here, as more and more Vibes are appearing on the scene, I swear most of them are driven by old folks like me. Do you young folks now think you own an old peoples car? From reading these posts, it's obvious that most of you are young, but I wonder if GM has available the median age of Vibe buyers.I noticed above that one of you lives a little north of Bay City. I used to live in Kawkawlin. Fun little town - at least it was forty-some years ago.

I would also suggest that we have a name tag for our shirts.I can't wait to meet all of my friends from GENVIBE. James

If so, I don't think we were looking at doing this. We could consider it, but with how far some people might be coming from, they may just want to meet at the site. We will look at this though once we have confirmed our location.

Must be the type of cars you have changes the name of what a meet actually is.I didn't hear from Joseph Pontiac yesterday so I am hoping to hear from them today. Yes I did tell him that there may be a few Matrixes there. But I also told him that it would be primarily Vibes. He said that it should be fine. We also have to make mention of this in MatrixVibe.net as well. We may be able to get a few more to come from there.

Out of all the Vibes in my area, every one of them except one GT, have been driven by an older person. The GT was driven by a younger guy, probably a college student. I don't worry about what others age or gender is when it comes to the Vibe. A secretary at my wifes work said that the Vibe is a "cute" car and was surprised that I guy would drive it. I beg to differ. I love my car and the mods I have done to it. I don't think it is an old peoples car or a chick car by any means. It is a good car for anyone who gets behind the wheel. Anyways, back to our regular scheduled forum topic of the Michigan meet!
