I've been searching the boards for info concerning high octane fuels, not premium, I mean "RACING/AVIATION" high octane fuel, 103 and up. I've only been able to find talk about 93 and down.We have a number of real high compression/suppercharged motors running around this end of town and 105 readly available. I've been thing about giving it a try for maybe one tank now and then in my GT depending what I have in mind for the weekend. Does the 2ZZGE run a high enough compression ratio to hang with a tank of 105? Does anyone have experince withe their GT's and racing fuels? I mean I don't want to burn up my exhust valves like I did in an old motorcycle I had years ago.Thanks

It would probably run cooler, with less power and more emissions. Octane is resistance to knock so that you can use higher compession or FA. It's actually less easy to combust so you may get a less complete burn and there's not more inherent energy there to begin with. No benefit of higher than 93.

why waste your money? the 2zz engine really only needs 91 or higher unless you have F/I and engine management to make it worthwhile for 103+ race fuel. I only run that high of octane in my LGT when i'm at the drag strip on my race map designed for that high of octane. otherwise, it'd not make too much of a difference if the car doesn't know to take advantage of it. that's just me and my opinion. others may disagree.
no.a ive talked with a few vibes owners that have tried it.usually it comes down to "ive tried a few gallons at the track" hey ive even tried it on my 1zz (nitrous)but make sure its unleaded i know the higher ones are leaded, i used sunoco 104 unleaded. leaded gas will mess you up big time,

DUDE! I hit your link, I'm impressed! I'm assuming its's your's. I see a lot I'd like to do to mine. I'd like to find out more about the nitrous. I'v just stated looking into long ram vs. short ram intakes and cat-back exhaust. As you can tell I'm pretty new to all this stuff.

If you switch to the higher performance rating gasoline, you should reset your ECU prior to filling the tank. It takes a while for the ECU to adjust to the difference in octane performance. Resetting the ECU will likely help this process along, but it's really a waste to go over 93. If you're that curious, try 100 low-lead (available at your regional airport).My $0.02
