if you have a friend in the mechanics..should ask him to tag along and see if they are willing to let him look at it..i know a buddy of mine did that and he said that it was a great car..might need brakes but thats it..so my friend bought the car and spent $40 on the brakes

I always bring my cars im interested in to my mechanic. He actually found a leak in my cv boot and so i bought the car and just had that replaced under warranty. I got mine from hertz used car sales, but car soup if they are in your area or cars.com also check the local news papers (old people usually sell cars there because they love papers)

I bought my 2004 Satellite colored vibe three months ago from a dealer. It only has electric windows and door locks and Auto tranny. Paid 11K even for it and it only has 30,100 miles on it. That would fall in her budget...I actually budgeted $15,000 but wanted to save some dough for my mods (tires, rims, springs, hitch and racks etc).

There really aren't any major issues or problems with Vibes so I think pretty much any used Vibe that looks, sounds, and feels good would be a good buy you know what I'm saying? The only real problems experienced by other members and myself were just freak mechanical flukes and are very rare.

I second (or third) the above advise. Get it checked out by a trusted mechanic. There are lots of great deals out there to be had, but a few bucks up front can save you a bundle down the road.

i got mine from carmax. i like them because you can check all there stores online and the price is the price. no haggling. also they have a great warranty that covers everything from electrical to engine to interior. they also check them out before they will sell them. i had to pay 150 to transfer mine from Indy., but was totally worth it because i got everything i wanted.

certified used helps with any issues you may have once you bought the vehicle. Or have a trusted mechanic check it out before you buy it and any concerns looked at before you do. I sold my used Vibe to my folks. my dad hopes to get 10 years out of it. I hope he does.

Well, thank you all for the insights... Most of which i knew already, but, I ALWAYS ask the masses for an opinion. This always takes me back to NASIOC.com (my Subaru site) and the amount of information available at any given moment.... Statistically, you can't go wrong accepting that you don't know it all and being able to ask others for their respective opinions... So, again, thank you all....!!!
