That's it...

Post by 808 Vibes »

This wimpy Toyota horn gotta go. This morning my boy (below) are on our way to the vet for his Pre-Op testing for his dental cleaning next week. We're on the freeway and this old guy in a green dodge truck almost hits me. I had my eye on him because I somehow had a feeling he was going to do something stupid. So when I saw the truck coming towards me and almost hitting me, on the side where Shu was in his carry bag on the floor, I punched the horn and didn't let go. Whether he heard this Toyota horn ("EEP"!) I don't know, but it's highly unlikely since he had his windows up and he casually goes back into his lane. Then he gives me space because he's afraid of me because I was screaming my head off at him, to which he avoided eye contact, of course. There wasn't a wave and a "sorry...I'm a donkey...I did something dangerous and stupid" kind of acknowledgement...nothing. He kept his distance behind me. Until he passes me, cup of coffee in one hand. Me, again screaming my head off should he find the guts to peek in his rearview mirror. In my younger days I would've chased him down and scared the crap out of him, but I let him go. If his windows were down, I would've done it..."you stupid @$%^ I got my baby in the car!" you know...really scare him. What's scary is we have SO many old people here that think they can still drive. That's it...I've decided I'm going to change this wimpy horn to a real horn...a Bonneville horn will be my first mod! Especially since we're planning a family!

Chill dude! It's all good! You were probly in his blind spot. If you saw him wandering over to your lane then slow down or speed past him. All that screamin's gonna freak out your 'baby'. And you want to have kid's? Hehehe! Better learn some control now while you can my friend! But I agree, the stock horn SUCKS! It's exactly the same as the on on my Ninja!.

Bonneville! That's exactly where my horns came from. I stopped by the local junk yard, picked out a newer Bonneville and pulled the dual note horns. I mounted them up behind the grill of the Vibe, and she speaks with authority now! It's well worth it, I knew on the test drive when I bought the Vibe that the horn would never do.
I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code

CRAP, same thing happened to me today almost got hit by a lane drifter. But I didn't freak out, I was way to embarrassed by the WIMPY Vibe stock horn. it sounded like it came from a friggin playground meep meep. Like I am Mr. Bean riding in an original Mini in London.
