Sythethic oil & gas mileage question

Post by cptnsolo77 »

For those who made the switch from regular oil to synthetic, did you see a increase in gas mileage?

Neither did I. It's a myth that synthetic oil is substantially more slippery than regular oil. Synthetic is superior in numerous ways but providing better mpg is not one of them. I use synthetic in both vehicles and all the bikes.

Like djb said, plenty of reasons to change, but mpg isn't one of them.

Ditto. I use synthetic because I think it's better for the mechanics. It doesn't seem to have helped any with MPG. But it does seem to run a bit quieter.
