Learned friends,Am I correct in assuming the GM News Police has caught up with our friend eastbaysaint and the rest of us for bandying about news on the upcoming '09 Vibe?Or is something wrong with my browser?I can't get to the pictures, or the latest messages of that discussion... or the earlier ones, either.I suspect the topic was removed when a GM lawyer threatened the administrator with an expensive spanking... Still, the pics were up two weeks, anybody seriously interested probably saw them.Does anyone know what happened? -Mathias
I appreciated his efforts and it was neat to see what is to come. I thank him specially for posting it here at genvibe. I also hope he didnt lose his job, hopefully gm was able to take some of our comments into consideration...?

You can read the Cheers and Gears link to see what happened as a result unfortunately.

Seriously, I hope the guy didn't get turfed from his job, but really, he must have known how hazardous it was posting those pics.

Quote, originally posted by Cheers and Gears »Eastbaysaint i.e. Stephen who took these pictures use to work at the place that was storing these Vibes before they were to be shipped. They are covered in black padding to ensure they would not be photographed before they are to be publicly unveiled in the next few months. I say that Stephen use to work at this warehouse because he was let go from his job as a direct result of taking and posting these pictures with his name on them. How stupid is that!? Was he trying to make money off these pictures, or was it just a prank? I guess the courts will decide if or what he will need to pay for his actions. Seems like a high price to pay.

I certainly would have not attributed the photos to my name if i have done something similar at the place where i work. I would have expected to get fired if i were caught.
When this occurred in a Michigan Warehouse prior to another GM vehicle launch, GM terminated the contract with the supplier for breach of contract. All employee actions have an impact!
IIRC, someone here suggested that the initial posting had two possible explanations:1) The post was done by an individual and that the GM "suits" would soon come for that person, or2) It was a marketing ploy directed at a forum (GenVibe) where some honest feedback might result.I stated then that I hoped it would be the latter (2), but that previous experience with GM Marketing suggested the former. Looks like I was right.I can only conclude with three simple words:"Save Picture As..."
Heh, for #2 above: GM could give two craps about any of us until somebody gets out of line and publishes details about their little dirty secrets. They really don't care what any of us think as past/present/future customers, whether we have ideas about what would make a better car (and hell, maybe bring them more money) or not. We only fork over our hard earned dollars to them, so our ideas/thoughts/suggestions/experiences concerning their products are entirely irrelevant. Besides, If GM really cared about us folks on the internet they would have shown how sorry they felt for me and PM'ed me with an offer to buy back my Vibe when I had it and came to post here constantly about something new breaking and their incompetent service people's inability to fix it. (removed)! I feel sorry for the guy who got busted, but I knew it would happen and he should have too. There were only a few people who knew where those cars were and had access to them, so it would be easy for GM to track down the source of the leak.Oh well. Vibers, I hope the scoop was good for ya, it sure came at a price for somebody.

if those pics are valid, its more an evolution than a revolution. i was hoping for something shocking. the door inners are awesome, but you cna almost see the preious gen dash everywhere in the new gen. they didn't even change the speedo.i do hope they do the GT right. something to rival the caliber SRT4.
