adding powered locks... can this be done?

Post by silver_vibe55 »

Hello all,Just bought a 2004 Vibe this week, used, and unfortunately it didn't come with the powered option. I'm really missing the keyless entry/powered locks that my old car had, and I would really like to find out if it is possible to install and upgrade to powered locks/keyless entry. If so, any suggested manufacturers??Thanks Kindly.

Hi and welcome to your new second home...!!Power locks can EASILY be added, your better off getting an alarm and paying for everything once... Consult the local car audio/alarm places.. you should be able to get away with everything under 300$ i'm guessing.... Is the car an automatic? If so, why not get a auto-start set-up as well...

There are kits for this at this place.http://www.a1electric.com/mes.htmJust remember the Vibe needs cable type actuators.I've been wanting to do this for 2 years now, just got caught up with all the speed parts. The full kit is around $129.

Now that's what I like to hear!! Will kits include locking the hatch as well??And no, I opted to get the 5-speed manual... I just love the added control that comes with shifting your own gears, and not to mention it's fun as hell!!
