04 Cavalier radio

Post by chevelle_lover »

I think I had a head injury so I took the boss' car over to Future Shop to look at getting a new radio installed in it. I thought that it would be nice for here to control her IPOD through the stereo. When I got there the kid (I think he was 12 or something) tells me that the factory radio controls some stuff in the dash and that they would have to add a wiring harness for the cost of $150 and put the factory radio in the trunk so we do not loose certain features of the car. The kid tells me that they do not know which features it is but he would not risk it since that it could be the air bags. So a $200 radio is going to cost me with labour and tax $400. I put this on hold and go to two local shops. Both of them tell me that it will disable the door beeper and the interior lights will not stay on 30 seconds after the door is closed. We are willing to loose both of these for the new stereo. I am hoping that no one else has had to deal with this.
If God didn’t want us to eat meat, why did he make the cow so slow? (Ever eaten a cheetah-burger? Nope. And you never will.)
