Cargo mat

Post by ShotInTheDark »

I just picked up a cargo area mat on ebay. Buy it now for 38.95! Hopefully the seller will post more. It's a plain black poly-vinyl cover. I'll post pics when i get it

I have the same one coming, hopefully this week. I noticed some of his feedback was complaining of how thin it is, but I will judge for myself.

there is No Comparison with the one from ebay and weathertechs model.... the one on Ebay is cheap, However the price is fair, the weathertech carpet is way upthere at 100.00 bux US,........you pay for what you get!

I had another post in this forum. If you get two ppl to buy them and ship to one place he'll cut the price. Read my other post. But wait till i get the mat to let you know if it's worth it or not.

Well i got the cargo mat today and I must say, what a f-in piece of crap! Highly disappointed. Not only does it not fit well at all but it is so thin that when i removed ot from the cardboard box, the staples tore it! What a joke! It's a 1/8th inch piece of poly styrene basically. It's doesn't fit it shifts from side to side and front to back! Please do not buy the S/M cargo liner on ebay!

It will do it's job but I am most deffinetely dissappointed for the first time ever in a E-Bay purchase. I'm sorry for the rest of you that have bought the same mat. It is an attractive black cover, but for the money carpet would be much better.

Don't know. I guess so. I put it in the car though to keep the plastic from getting any more scratched. Hopefully the top side is a bit tougher then it looks.

I checked out many different aftermarket brand cargo mats and most didn't seem like they would fit perfectly or hold up under actual use. I deciced to not take any chances or waste my time on cheap "imitation" type cargo mats and found "genuine Pontiac" cargo mats and cargo nets for the Vibe at http://www.1stpontiacparts.com for less money than my local dealer. These are the "exact" same ones the dealers sells, carpet on the top and rubber underneath, with the Pontiac symbol and the word "VIBE" written in the lower left corner. My local dealer gets $70 dollars for the cargo mat and $50 dollars for the 2-piece cargo net set plus 8.5% sales tax. I bought the exact same "genuine Pontiac" accessories for $57.95 and $29.40 with no sales tax and at least I know they will work perfectly because they were designed for the Vibe. I hope this info is helpful to someone.

That was the MOST helpful post I have found yet! I just ordered my Cargo Net, $30 can't be beat. Thanks for the truly helpful info. I too ordered an S&W cargo liner on ebay. Hasn't arrived yet, but I am dreading it any day now.

I use a big ol slab of carpet....its cheap (spare from the house carpeting) and holds stuff great...no sliding around. It also happens to be that awesome stuff that feels like regular carpet (not the shaggy kind hehe) and is made from recycled 2 liter bottles so you can spray it and wipe it down and it wipes clean!!!its comfy to sit on too....(tailgating)-Phil

Well, my cargo mat from S&W or whatever on Ebay arrived today.. I echo the previous post. "what a piece if f**n crap!" Not worth the price. maybe in my book it's retail value is about half of what they charge. Still, I will keep it instead of spending half of what I will get back to ship it. I think we are all better off with carpet we get from Home Depot and cut to fit, or get a Pontiac cargo mat. This thing will do for now, but I personally wouldn't recommend getting one.

I just got a call from a Pontiac dealer who was apparently filling my order for a cargo net from the first pontiac parts website. He said the price was wrong, it should be $46 instead of $29. I told him to cancel my order. THEN I checked the website, it still is on there for the lower price. (removed) is going on with that?

no, this was ordered on the first pontiac parts website, not apparently affiliated with any dealer. What I assume they do is transfer my order to a dealer they have an "arrangement" with and he fills the order. This guy wasn't willing to part with the net for less than $46. I contacted the site and am waiting a reply.

jlynam,I'm surprised to hear that you got a phone call from a dealer saying you won't be able to get your cargo net for the $29.40 price listed on the 1stpontiac.com website. I just received an e-mail confirmation that my order was just shipped with no mention of any "price adjustment" being made to my original order. I ordered both the 2-cargo net set and the cargo mat from them and everything seems to be fine. If I were you, I would go back on the website and print the page listing the 2-cargo net set for $29.40 immeadiately. When you print the page it should have the date you printed it out on the bottom somewhere which will prove they are advertising it for this price. Once you have this in your hands they must sell it to you for this price, even if it's a mistake on their part, or face false advertising/consumer fraud charges. I will post again as soon as I receive my order and let everyone know how I made out with my order.

That site is not directly affiliated with GM or Pontiac. Thought it is run by a Pontiac dealer, the nature of it does not mean that any other dealers are obligated to honor those prices.

jlynam,I just received my cargo mat and 2-cargo net set a few days ago. My receipt shows the selling prices are excatly what they were advertised for on the 1stpontiac.com website, $57.96 for the cargo mat and $29.40 for the 2-cargo net set. The name and address of the dealer that actually filled the order and shipped it to my house is: Bob Bridge Auto Center Pontiac/Toyota/GMC Truck150 S.W. 7TH Street, Renton, WA 98055 Phone: (425) 277-1460 or (206) 772-5801 They also have a website http://www.bobbridge.comYou might want to try and deal directly with this dealer yourself if you don't get anywhere with the 1st pontiac people. You shouldn't have to pay more than the advertised price for any part or accessory. The 1st pontiac people are probably using other dealers as sub-contractors to fill their orders, but technically you are buying the parts from 1stpontiac.com not the other dealer who is shipping the parts. They are being reimbursed for the parts at a price agreed upon between the two companies. Let me know what happens.

That is just completely messed up! Bob Bridge is the same dealer that called me and said the price was $46.00 for the Cargo Net, and the same dealer I said "forget it" to. I will order again and see what happens. If I get a call again I will ask to speak to someone actually in charge. Thanks for letting me know! Of course now I am kinda steamed! But that is not your fault

Check out www.partszoneonline.com. I bought my winter floor mats from them and was very happy with the price and the service. It is a GM dealer in PA behind the web site, and they have a customer service number you can call with questions before you order if you like.

After searching E-bay for a relatively inexpensive cargo floor mat I decided to take the advice of several GenVibe postings and make my own cargo floor mat. I bought a roll of Anit-fatigue Floor Padding (approx. 3' by 5') at an office supply store. I found that a roll of this size costs around $35 (USD). I was lucky and found a roll on clearance for $17 (USD) . The padding is typically charcoal grey, but I've seen black as well. Using several paper bags, I created a template. Within 45 minutes, I had a custom made, custom fit, very cushioned, noise reducing, cargo holding cargo mat. Plus I had enough padding left over to give my daughters's all terrian wagon (ATW) a nice cushioned bottom Beats the stuffing out of an overpriced plastic piece off...

I haven't buy the GM cargo mat. I did my own with a carpet bought at Reno-Depot. $30 (cnd) plus 30 mins to cut it to fit the cargo area.

quote:I bought the pontiac mat.Paid a bit more.No complaints.I bought the Pontiac/GM mat also. What I would like, though, is one that covers the ENTIRE cargo area with the back seats folded flat. I'm getting some scuffing and small scratches on the backs of the rear seats, even though I've tried to be careful about protecting them when hauling stuff. Any suggestions other than make one myself?
