Anyone know where I can get my hands on...

Post by tangerine »

Anyone know where I can get my hands on a GM FF 14 bolt rear end (4:56 gears) with a 6 bolt axle? I cannot find any online vendors that have them.

The GM 14 bolt only comes with either 9.5 ring gear or a 10.5 ring gear. They both only come in eight lug and replacing the axles for six lug will be a custom build. The 9.5 is a semi floating axle and the 10.5 is a full floating axle. The 9.5 you may be able to get replacement axles to retro fit it for six lug. Since the 10.5 is a full floater then the lugs are attached to the drums. I do not know of a kit or anyone that makes the six lug brake to be mounted on these. Try strange engineering, currie, or . They may be able fabricate axles for your application but you will have to get the full housing and the gears since it is not an aftermarket axle. If you are looking for something similar and willing to shell out the cash for an aftermarket axle assembly then try the Dana 60. I know that they have made these for the five lug but I do not know of a six lug application.
