Proud new owner of an '03 Vibe!!!

Post by VibeHigher »

Well, I signed the papers yesterday on a 2003 Vibe in the color of salsa. It was a trade in at the local Nissan dealership, and they couldn't sell it because everyone coming in looking for imports didn't want anything to do with a Pontiac. Aha, little did they know...So I walked away with the 2003 Vibe base with 66k miles for about 7k plus fees. I think it's a pretty good deal. There are a few cosmetic things with the paint and interior...I'm likely going to replace the CD player soon...but I feel like I got a pretty good deal. It's a manual; moonroof and power windows are the only options it seems. So what mod should I do first??

WELCOMEFirst thing you should do is POST photos for us photo mongers. LOL The more you come around the more you will knowI love HID headlights. If you do a lot of night time driving this mod is a MUST!IntakeHeaders, exhaustRimsDrop itThe above four seem to be the standards.Look in the DIY section and you will see a lot more finishing touches people have made to the vibe.

Welcome to GV, the best car board on the net. You will learn to love your new ride. For mods, since you are in the south, I'd say window tint is a must if it isn't already done. The next thing to make a big difference in the looks is custom rims and good tires, if you can afford it. Gives you great looks and better handling in one mod.For sure post pix when you can.

That Vibe probably stickered new at about $17,550. Rebates in 2003 were $2,000 for a while, discount of about 1,000 for a net of $14,550. At $7,000 it looks to me like you got it for what they thought they could get for it at auction. I am not a fan of high mileage used cars but IMO you got the most for the money in that deal.

Welcome and add another call for Window Tint! The Salsa Vibes look hawt with tint Of course, I'm biased Also go for the rainguards. You'd be surprised how cool your car can stay with the tint and windows opened a crack.I'm very jealous if you have the headlights with the black bezel... you should definitely get the smoke grafxwerks headlight corners to go with that look!Pictures pictures pictures! LOL

Sounds like you got a great deal, I bought my 03 vibe, with power windows, locks and keyless entry, 6 disk changer and the 5 speed for $13,000 at 46,000 miles last october. My 03 has been a very good car, you should be happy with it. Oh and Welcome to Genvibe!

Well, I take delivery tonight and I will try to have some pictures up later.About how much should I expect to pay for a good window tint? I'm already familiar with the cost for wheels and tires. Also, the stock CD player is a little beat up so I think I'm going to replace it. My mind has been preoccupied with all that can be done with a double-din space!! I can't afford it right now, but an in-dash GPS/DVD would be awesome. I also started thinking about how hard it would be to hook up a spare laptop to a double-din monitor in that space...The reality is I'll likely be getting just a nicer double-din CD player...but it's fun to dream
