How Much Oil?

Somewhat of a stupid question:How much oil does the 1zz and 2zz take? I searched the ownerâ€™s manual and found nothing. I also searched the forum and I still couldn't find anything!I heard from a friend who worked at Toyota that there was a recall on the 2006 dipsticks. Can anyone confirm this?While we're on the subject, how do you know the proper amount of oil for any vehicle?Thanks for any information.

1zz engine- 4.4qts. 2zz engine - 4.7qts. Check pg 5-96 in the 2006 Owners manual for all the capacities. or go here: http://www.genvibe.com/images/...e.pdf

Wonder what changed from the '05 to the '06. '05 manual has 3.9 qts 1ZZ and 4.8 qts 2ZZ.

whoa! 4.2L in the 1zz? In the manual..go to the back of the book and there are tables with this info...my 2004 says 3.7 L.

The 06 manual reads 4.2L for the 1zz. The 04 and 05 manuals read 3.7L. I know mine takes 4 1/2 qts, I guess that would be close to 4.2L.

from my experience...the 1zz (base and AWD) engine takes exactly 4qts of oil.

4 qts, that's what I put in and the level is "spot on", the dip stick full mark. So, does the the '06 1ZZ hold 1/2 qt. more the '05 but the '06 2ZZ holds 1/10 qt. less than the '05? What's up with that?

I think we need someone to post a pic of the '06 1ZZ oil pan. It may be bigger ?
