Is Vermont still known for cheese or pot

Post by Whelan »

Figured that title would get your attention. I tend to makeup names of states for the fun of it. Here are a few I've come up with, some are just different ways of saying the name pronunciation wise.Pennsyltucky (for PA, not KY)Ohi-hoCannanicutMass-a-suks-a-lot (my favorite, go Yankees)North/South CakalackyVir-ginaTay-hasThe Armpit (Jersey)Flaaahridha

I knew many people that worked "suger bushes" as they called them.... you could drive through the mountains and see hundreds of trees all conected together with plastic tubing... strange... This post sure took a left turn, from what it was intended... lol

I've used Canadia before, lol. Sounds more like a country to me. I've had 100% pure untreated Maple syrup. It was a gift at a wedding, used it the next morning on my waffles. Wow it was amazing, apparently it cost $15 for a little bottl shaped like a leaf too.If VT is anything like the liquor tax free state of NH next door then there may not be a whole lot around.

Too bad for you guys, here in Quebec its like 5 $ for a can of 540ml. I have dozens of hem. I could'nt live without it. I buy it directly from the producers. I use more maple product than white sugar (actualy, I don't use white sugar at all...)

Real Maple Syrup is good whether it comes from Vermont, NH, NY, OH, Canada etc. A lot of the maple syrup that sells for sky high prices is just hype. Put it in a bottle shaped like a maple leaf and charge four times as much. Thje tourists will pay. That said, there is a lot of incentive to cheat - blending maple syrup with sugar. The government is too busy chasing health hazards like bad peanut butter and the like to be bothered with economic fraud. Cracker Barrel gives you real maple syrup with your pancakes. The stuff at Bob Evans . . . . well, it is like Log Cabin! The better maple syrup is the lighter syrup. Companies label "dark amber" as if it were something good and consumers used to caramel colored dark brown Log Cabin mistakenly think that dark is good. I hear there is a glut of Canadian maple syrup and the government keeps it off the market to avoid an adverse impact that would harm producers.

mainlining refers to injecting something in your arm. Think heroin. I guess that phrase went out with the 70's.
