The coolest A/C Checklist

Post by ProtonXX »

I dont have pictures yet but heres a checklist of things I did to beat 120F Vegas Heat1. A/C Line Insulation..Double Insulated Just to make sure. There are 2 size 2tubes at home depot that will fit inside each other & are self adhesive. Cover up the cold AC line(low pressure valve line) as much as you can.2. A/C Cable Adjust..Theres a Cable form the Cold/Hot Adjuster that connect to a white wheel on the passenger side on the side of the center console next to the glove compartment. Make sure it turns FULLY clockwise & place the cable back.3. Cabin Air Filter.. Blocks a TON of air, I removed it completely to get more air flow. its located behind the glovebox, you have to remove it to see the latch door where it sits behind4. Extra Air Recirculation... The same door latch that holds the cabin air filter I cut it out so the fan sucks in extra air. The fan works as a vacuum that sucks air down. It will pull extra air from the now open door.5. Refrigerant Replace... Im the only person crazy enough to replace the R-134 Refrigerant with Propane/HC-12a.. but hey it works extra nice on the freeway. Its EPA legal, safer, less flammable, & works with less pressure, & cools more than R-134a. If you want to be on the safe side, you may see some results by switching to those synthetic 134+ rechargers6.Recycle A/C Water Consendation. Theres a tube on the passenger side that leads from the A/C switch in the center console to a plug on the floor under the carpet that has a nice supply of water. Im gonna hook up a water pump to it and pump it to the vents to make vent mist.

What was you lowest temp reading at the vent to the right of the steering wheel. I recently tested mine. 38F on max with and without insulation and 134A. http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=29064
