mother ****** ***** *****

Post by Whelan »

MFWB!!Figures after I spent 9 hours, 9 HOURS!!! detailing my car yesterday not to mention the 1.5 hours the other day I get hit!Coming down the parkway (two lane highway), I get cutoff by a GMC Yukon Denali who not only cuts me off, but apparently had no room cause I am now sitting here with a smashed driver's headlight, banged in fender, possibly new bumper. Thankfully no damage to hood or grille. Awesome! So a $500 deductible, dropping the car off tomorrow at Progressive. They have these claim concierge places. I put my claim in online, setup an appointment online and going to this concierge place. You literally drop your car off, go through some quick paperwork, a rental is waiting for you there, then they call you when your car is ready (typically less than 7 days) and you pay your deductible when you pickup the car! I gotta say I love my insurance company, so fast and easy I am just pissed I spent all that time yesterday now its beat up. Well a few good things I guess, the car is showroom clean so they will be able to match the paint just right A new bumper would be nice because mine is all pitted and scraped from the last owner. I just need to pull off my foglamp protectors and my HIR headlight cause I don't want those pulled and thrown out. Maybe I can get them to give me a new left fog light since that is the older one. Should I smash it before I bring it in?

Man, that sucks. At least you didn't get hurt. Progressive will have you fixed up quick. I dealt with them a couple of years ago for a fender bender. They came to my work and cut a check on the spot. Good Luck with it.

if it was the Yukon's fault, shouldn't they pay for the repairs instead of you? Did you get a police report?

Police Report is in the works, no citation was issued and I am getting my deductible back, but I want it fixed ASAP so I am cutting the check myself. Progressive works about 1000 times faster than Allstate who she has so I am going through my people. Their concierge service has been getting rave reviews since it opened 4-5 months ago in my town. Can't wait to try it out.

You can see the front panel is bange in, it was pushed back so when you open the door it rubs just a tiny bit, nothing on the frame, I checked under the hood, all is fine. It seems that and the headlight got the most. Maybe a few clips on the bumper so a new bumper possibly. If so I wouldn't be sad cause that bumper was all knicked up.

Bummer... Hope you have good things to say about progressive. In my town Progressive is on the bottom end of quality, acording to a few body shops around me.

Get a Vibe so you can really be one of us. Glad there was no damage to you!

If I got a Vibe I would have to put up pictures of it. I'm expecting either a Chevy Malibu type of thing or an Altima. The last few rentals I've had were a Buick Terraza, Chevy Colorado 4-door, Chevy Malibu, Dodge Durango. I almost didn't get the Durango, but it was either a new Durango or some beater 1995 Pontiac Grand Am. I was like where did this POS come from. I am going today at one so I'll keep ya posted.

Sorry to hijack but this is weird--my friend and I were just talking about this yesterday. I have Progressive and luckily I've never had to make a claim, but I've heard they are HORRIBLE. Both from a body shop standpoint and the customers. So....now I'm hearing that they are great to work with, which makes me feel a bit better, but I'm wondering who's right! Sorry about your car Whelan, especially after you went to ALL that work to make her look pretty. People suck.

I've had Progressive for like 5 years plus now. I've never had a problem with them or the repairs. You can go to anyone you want for repairs they do not have to be in Progressives network. The new concierge service they have has been getting rave reviews from people according to my agent (who is also an old friend). Turn around is fast and work is good. They work hand in hand with Enterprise so you get your rental right there when you drop off the car. No deposit fee needed for Enterprise like I used to do because they work under the same roof now. Like I said, I've had Progressive for years now and my gf switched to them instead of Geico cause she saved a ton. Oh and to top off my week of fun, I also have a sinus infection (**** mold) which does not help me any. Should get some meds today from the doctor in a bit and start to feel better. Try sitting in front of a computer under fluorescents with a migraine, pressure, runny nose, sore throat.

Just got back to the office from picking up the rental. They gave me a 2007 Kia Sportage LX V6 4WD. Not to shabby, def. more pickup than the Trix and being higher is better, but the interior feels cheaper and I miss my leather wrapped steering wheel. All in all not bad, its red and has 2,200 miles on it.
