im looking to get some lightweight rims for when i go to the tracks/autocross. but instead of spending 100 per rim for 16-17lbs and 300+ for under 13lbs i was gonna try to use my sisters celica rims after she upgrades hers. they are currently holding 205/50R16 tires. ours use the same dimensions cept 55 instead of 50. so i assume they can easily fit over the brakes but im only worried about if they can handle the extra 300+lbs our car weighs as well as how much load ill be putting on them at the track.also does anyone know the wight of our rims? (not the hubcaps)
the tires would fit over the brakes..the 50/55 is just sidewall height..im not sure if the offset is any different tho..that would be one thing to look into
the weight won't be in issue either.... don't you have any heavy friends ride with you or more than two people? Besides during an auto cross your not going to have passengers. As Waveaction said.. the issue would be with offset. You should be fine with the offset though. Celica custom rims have a 40mm offset. The vibe's have a 35mm-45mm
