In dash XM

Post by Scootman! »

I have an XM radio transmitter built into my dash and the shark fin antenna on the roof of the car. Does anyone know how difficult it would be to take out the XM transmitter that is built in the dash?

Are you sure the XM receiver is in the dash, not built into the radio itself?

Thats a good question! I have a stock radio, it's not XM or any aftermarket if that helps. If I remember correctly it was in dash, there is no box or anything like that on the dashboard.

It sounds like you have a kit that interfaces with the factory radio. I'm going to guess and say it's probably right behind the radio or somewhere close by. Start by removing the radio and tracing the wiring from where the harness plugs into the back of the radio. Here's some removal info: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=8510
