strange HELP!! concerning dash lights

when i put the car from off to on, everything works, the gauges light up look all nice, cd player goes has time and everything looks normalwhen i start the car everything turns off!! cd player still plays but display is completely offall gauges lights are off cannot see anythign! if i turn blinkers on, those lights come on, overdrive light works if i hit it, headlights light stays on e-brake light comes on, but thats only if i use those things, otherwise its completely off! whats going on!?????????

Hmm you can try resetting the battery aka pull off the negative for a few min and then try. Maybe its a fuse, check all the fuses dealing with lighting. Could maybe be a short once its on..like theres the different positions on the key turn starter thing, acc and on etc. maybe once its on it ground out? sorry about not being able to be more helpful but theres a start to diagnosing it :s good luck and post back after you do some of those test things

Do the headlights or DRL stay on after the car is started? or do they go out too? It may be something in the lighting circuit.

Is your dimmer control set all the way down?If not, swap it out with one from another of your vibes, see if the problem stays with the ccar or the switch

this morning it worked fine.. i didn't do anything different, maybe my dad did?sorry i dont have much time to asnwers questions now sorry

wowww my dad messed with it and didnt tell me > he just turned the nobs on the left side cause he accidently did stuff... UGHHHH frustrating hahathanks for everyones help
