Hello Everyone, newbie here

Post by MountainMax »

I am purchasing a 2003 Vibe and will be picking it up in mid august, can't wait, it's an AWD model with very low milage. I found this site and hope it will be helpful for me. Just wanted to say Hi

Oh yeah, Im actually buying it from my mother. It's origonal and in MINT condition with very little milage, and i don't even have to pay the taxes. Right now I own a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche with a 496 big block. Great for towing my rigs around but not great as a grocery getter which the Vibe will be great for. It's grey in color now and im gonna paint it black and tint out the windows. I also searched for some info on Magnaflow catback exhaust system. Maybe even a header to go with it, and an intake setup. The car is an AWD model and unfortunately has the lowest HP ratings of all the Vibes.

If it is an AWD there is no aftermarket catback system or header available. You will need to go custom catback($350-450) and custom header($500+) if you want them. One thing you can do, that is free, is remove your existing header and hollow out the pre-cat that is integrated in the the header itself, then re-install it. This has been done my myself and many others. Our headers are a big power robber.

Concerned that the paint job might miss all the "behind the scenes" spots that will still be gray. Be sure to inform the painter if you're concerned about that. Can't get a better deal than described. And it's a perfect daily driver.

In most places sales taxes are owed even if the sale or transfer amount is $1. Most states will require taxes be paid on the fair market value of the car.Don't get yourself in trouble.

Here in canada a car is allowed to be transferred to a sibling without paying any tax or transfer fees, once in a lifetime. This is what makes this an even better deal.As for the Exhaust, thanks for the tip, i will hollow out my precat and try to find a magnaflow muffler that matches my inlet/outlet location and size and try that.As for the paint, im not too worried if some spots inside are left grey as the interior is grey.I want it black to match my Avalanche. Here is a pic ov my AV
