I have received the elite at work! only 2.5 more hours....come on...come on. Um the external fans that go in the back really dont help at all. The internal fans either need to be replaced or fans added to the other vents are the only ways to help air flow. I will make a xbox holder with fans built in and show you guys.

... in response to northvibe's post about the wirelelss headset...DO NOT GET THE WIRELESS HEADSET!!! I can't be any more clear than that. I bought it when it first came out, because the stock headset didn't fit me very well either, and it was horrible! I took it back after a few days of thurough testing. Every time I used it, there was a lot of static and it would echo to other people as well. I was playing a lot of Texas Hold'em at the time and I would get kicked out of rooms because everyone could just hear static and couldn't hear me talking. Same thing happened on GOW, it sucked! It's really expensive and it really sucks. On a more upbeat note, new colored controllers coming out (blue and pink) and the Instant Messenger keyboard that connects to your controller (also comes with another stock headset) and the Halo3 limited ed. 360 (green with orange highlights and controller with a custom paint job from Todd McFarlane (Spawn comics, he's also doing action figures for Halo3 as well). Now that I'm out of breath... I'm done.

Hmm I'll prolly just use the stock elite, black custom headset. Its just not the best fit, the ps2 one fit better. I just plugged in my Mac usb keyboard and it worked typing messages! Man that makes it so much easier. I'll save my money and use the keyboard instead of that controller keybpad. But those other colored controllers are cool, but odd colors... I just picked up another black controller on sale at circuit city for 10 bucks off , wireless too. someone on RSV said that they had a bluetooth adapter for the xbox controller so they could use any bluetooth headset, I may look into that as I need a BT headset for my cell phone.Rizzle I'll be on RSV tonight but dont know how late as I have to wake up at 6am for work tomorrow

two of my friends have. one lasted 1 yr and 1 lasted 3 weeks from purchase. The hardware design is just horrid. But they have supposidly redesigned the board and gpu so it "should" be better. They also added on a 2nd heat sink to the gpu heatsink. I my self am ordering some fans to make a custom cooling kit for mine....the air flow out of the back of the x360 is sooooo weak.

ya i find the system heats up alot..they got this 3rd party cooling device that you attatch to the back of the console where the power adapter plug would go..it has 3 fans..but i dont know how good it works..i've never liked 3rd party accessories..i think the company was nyko or something along the lines

nyko sells the best one but those ones still dont do a very good job. The ones that will really go a good job are custom ones that use a 12v fan like the ones in your pc case or custom generic fans. Ones from 3rd party accessories use cheap fans like the ones already IN the xbox..they wont move real air... hence my reasoning behind making my own. I will do the project soon.....just need to find the right fans...

If you get PC fan(s) could you use that and make like a box/stand to hold it. would that help or what would be the best spot to cool it?I wanted to buy a desk fan and put it near the xbox

I should draw a pic tomorrow for you guys, but 2-3 80mm? fans on the opposide side of hdd blowing in. 2 80mm on the back infront of the stock ones blowing out aka sucking the air out. If possible have the xbox lifted a couple inches and some small fans blowing the bottom of the case to keep that cool. There isl also room for 1 60-80mm fan next to the hdd to blow in. I can draw this up...i should take measurements too... dang this time i waste all day!
