More Tail Light?

Post by VivaVibe »

Having driven behind a Vibe at night, the size of the lighted taillight is so small as to be scary. Has anyone else noticed this?Looking at the shape of the taillight, the top third is the lighted part, the middle is the directional signal, and the bottom third is simply a reflector. I've considered putting a bulb or some LED's behind the bottom portion with perhaps some reflective material like aluminum foil. However, there is no access to that area. And I don't know if adding lights would mess up the electrical current there. Is this possible?I've heard there is no after market tails for the Vibe either.

Get yourself a spare or a set of them, pull out the dremel or drill and start working.I would first pull the lens away from the backing and see how much room you have to work back there. Most likely the easiest choice is LEDs you can buy panels of them and strips and wire them easily. You would want to swap out the stock bulb for LED as well so it matches.
