For the past couple of weeks I've been getting this popup and I can't figure out where it's coming from. It says "opinion-central" and links to "insightexpressai".Anyone else getting this? Better still, anyone know what's causing it?It only happens on my company laptop - not my desktop nor my work desktop.I've found some ideas on Google on how to stop it, but I want to know the root cause to make sure I don't have some strange virus or trojan. I have McAfee virus protect (up to date) and Spybot S&D (up to date).
Thanks for info. I downloaded/ran a full scan with AdAware - 2 items detected/cleaned. Hopefully that fixes it.BTW - I know I could stop the pop-ups with the browser pop-up blocker, but it's more important to me to get rid of the cause. If it happened on all my PCs I wouldn't have been concerned over it.Hopefully AdAware took care of it. Since it doesn't happen often (maybe once a day), I won't know for sure if it's gone for a few days.
if your running windows xp or vista get these freeware appsspyware guardspyware blasterccleanera squared freespyware terminatorwell thats all i can think of now , but with those first 2 help keep spyware and that stuff off the computer the rest scan for malware and spyware and remove it. Spyware terminator is a newer app but dont install its AV client, just spyware and it helps protect and scan/remove.
I just got it while watching a video on CBS.com while using Firefox. They aren't that annoying anymore because they now started disappearing on theirown after a few seconds, but I just want to make sure there is no trojan or virus on my machine. Also to clearify, when I say "popup", I don't mean a browser popup...it's more like a hovering graphic popup. I think it's probably a script that's actually creating the ad so popup blockers on IE and Firefox don't stop it.I think I'd need the "Ad Blocker" and/or "NoScript" extensions loaded on Firefox to kill them, but those would prevent many legit web based applications from working properly.
