I have those in my rear doors and the separates up front. They rock!

They may require a spacer to fit, but they should go... (they should come with a spacer)I have a set of MMC6500 components just sitting here looking at me... I got the wrong crossovers for the system, came factory packaged with the wrong ones, it's been a few months i'm still waiting...I've owned 3 sets of polk components and they have always done me well, but i think thier QC department is being run by monkies ATM

Do component sets make that big of a difference? I'd really like to avoid the hassle of mounting the tweeters and crossovers. Thoughts?

I should of gone separates all the way around due to the better sound. If you have the choice go with the separates.

Where would you mount the crossovers and tweeters at? Also, would they still be beneficial if I'm only going to power them from the head unit?

Components usually DO make a big difference, though it isn't a good idea to run them from a HU, it's always a good idea to amp them... See the biggest difference is the "passive crossover" NETWORK. a Coax speaker uses a small capacitor mounted to the speaker somewhere to block the bass from getting to the tweeter. It carries a 6db roll off for the tweeter. That means for every octave of frequencies it cuts them off at a rate of 6db. Many components use multiple component in the crossovers to increase the roll off to 12/18/24db roll off, protecting the tweeter better and causing less phasing issues. The fact that the crossovers have more components in it, they use a certain amount of power from the input to do the work of crossing the frequencies over and sending them to the proper driver. Car audio head units already are underpowered and that power gets used to do the work, you have less for the speakers themselves. Even a small amp with multiple output transistors is better then a HU and it's small (~1"x1") output IC doing all the work... But YES components ARE better...
