Wrecked Vibe...

Post by Sublimewind »

Not mine or even a members here, but my old boss, let her son, drive the Vibe once... Everyone is thinking he was "Testing it's limits" out on a dirt road, he's 16-17 and rolled it 4 TIMES.... not a scratch on him(well, till dad found out, i'm sure)... the Vibe was totaled obviously... I sure wish i had some pics, but i couldn't get any from her.... So, just posting the fact that you CAN survive a 4 roller, in a Vibe...

The Vibe is fairly safe.I was sideswiped last year just before my wedding.Spun me around 3 times, the Vibe held up very well, bent the rear axle and did crush up the rear quarter and rear passenger door. But I'd didn't get hurt. And I was able to chase the stupid kid who hit me,as he decided to run,and I caught him too.

The wife hit a granite wall at an angle at close to 60mph(moved a huge rock 3 feet) and rolled a few times stopping on the roof facing oncoming traffic in our '04 Vibe. She was bruised and sore for a couple of weeks but my daughter just had a small bruise on her knee and she was on the side where the roof was crushed the most. It was caused by hydroplaning on crappy Nexen tires. That's the main reason we bought an '06 Vibe.

No doubt a safe car and this is yet another crash story with a great ending! I wish mine had side air bags though...

A 4-roller... wow! Glad they are ok. The Vibe seems to be a tough little vehicle when it comes to crashes. Good for us!!!

Yep, wear your seat belt too and someone will most likely walk away from the crash!Just last Friday a woman in Detroit driving her Jeep Cherokee Sport rolled it 6-7 times. The Jeep fared well but she was not wearing her seat belt and got thrown from the vehicle. About the most brain less comment I have ever heard from someone was "I will not wear my seat belt in a convertible". The reason: she feels with no roof, it would be better to be thrown from the car then stay with it when it lands on its roof. Hummm... Lets see! The average car crash does not cause the car to roll over. Unless you are at a high rate of speed or get hit at just the right angle. It was useless to argue with her because she just does not understand you want to stay with the vehicle buckled in. She rather break her spine, get thrown into traffic, or go threw the windshield.

Ever see one of those DIY Hail Damage remover kits...The adjuster counted 618 hail stone hits, new hood both fenders, back lift gate and lots of trim. Paint all except lower doors on drivers side.At the dealer 7 weeks, now in the shop for her bad turn skills

Used it on my Jeep Compass works great! Highly recommend! However in your case I would not want to do it 618 times!
