Steering Wheel / Auto Gear Shifter

I have an '04 Vibe, my gf has a '05 Corolla, I would like to find the leather wrapped steering wheel and gear shifter of her car somewhere to put in mine. Is it a big deal to swap the steering wheels?

Does someone know how this is all connected? Does it need to be the entire steering column that's replaced?Also, does anyone know where I would procure an oem leather steering wheel/auto shifter? I checked out a salvage link I found onf the forum but doesn't seem to have what I need.

Well, the airbag is held in place with 2 bolts, on the bottom of the wheel, then it's like any other wheel to remove... Doing the swap wouldn't be a great idea as your messing with the safety systems, if you DID ever get into a bad bender, good luck getting a insurance company to cover you... I wouldn't go there... Just my .02$ though

Not sure why you would want the Corolla version when there is a leather option for the Vibe. Have you checked on it?
