Is there a (simple) way to sort one's Gmail Inbox by "Sender"??

do a 'mail search' with words which identify that sender (search for their email address)...that should get you pretty close!

But any other mail programme I have used can sort by sender with the touch of a button. It does come in handy...a bit snobbish of Gmail not to allow for this feature.
