I hate to be a pain... amp help

Hey guys, i hate to ask questions that have probably been answered 100s of times but i really just cant comprehend anything that has to do with the technical terms of car audio.Im debating on buying (4) 10" kicker (CVR10)'s and the only thing stoping me is, i don't know what kind of amp(s) i need to power them. these are the specs, individually. RMS = 300 Peak power handling = 600 Peak power range (watts) 300-799I've read countless articles and such about amps and subs, and it still just doesnt click for me. Any help is greatly appreciated, including your thoughts on the subs.Thanks guys

it really depends on if they are getting wired up in Series or Parallel. I've be out of the Car audio game for a while but IIRC. you would want an amp that can hold at least 1200 RMS. The main cause of speakers being blown is from being Under Powered. My best friend James has a F'ton of certs from Alpine, Rockford, Kicker....... and has been doing it for years. You could always run an amp to each sub. Some Alpine decks allow you to daisy chain amps together and they have some clean RMS power, although expensive. Not to mention the serious power drain. I have two powerful Alpine amps powering my system and needed a bigger battery and Cap to keep my battery alive and lights in the car from dimming. PS. I use Kicker Subs too.

Main thing you need to decide is what your after.... are you planning on being a bass natzi or are you after decent sound? What does the rest of the system consist of? Do you even have an aftermarket head unit?Are you amping the rest of the mid-high system? you REALLY need a plan... 4 10'z is going to overpower the rest of the system if you don't plan on upgrading that to (new HU, amp for mids-highs, other than stock mid-highs...ect)Overpower, i mean your not gonna hear it over the bass... not blowing things up... 2 12's will do the same or better than 4 10's using less space.... 2 12's "could" be put in the spare tire well, without much loss of cargo space... well, i bet 4 10's could to, it would just be more work... think of it this way 8 8" or 4 10" or 2 12" or 1 15" ends up all being about the same in terms of output, it's just there is a large difference in sound between each set-up.... 8's being real "tight" up to the 15" being rather flabby, in terms of sound...

Thanks for all the responses, when i get home later on today I'll let you know spec's of the rest of the audio in the car. I have an aftermarket sony HU, with sony speakers. Not my choice, but it was given to me and i dont often turn down free stuff. Sorry it takes awhile for me to get back to reply, I don't have access to the internet as much right now, but your help is definitely appreciated.
