http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItemTire seems like a nice deal. I had a set of Falken Ziex ZX-512's on my Civic that were darn good. These are shipped for 270-290. Not a bad price, as opposed to the HRi's for about 300 shipped. A little more performance and look out of these. opinions?
I have'em on my Subaru right now and i think they suck hardcore... worst of about 6-7 different sets of "performance" tires i've owned... Look toward the Kumho SPT... but if you want the NO-seasion tires look at the ASX again...better yet the AST.... I've owned 3 set's of Kumho tires and they are the best of the 6-7 sets i've owned... a few dollors difference is minimal compaired to getting crappy tires... NOTE: I ended up with the Falken 512'z when i HAD to have tires after a wikkid nail in the bead tire issue and DTD didn't have the SPT in stock.... snap decision, and well, i got screwed... they DO ride decent on Mi roads, but if your looking for something that performs to... STAY AWAY.... Now they MIGHT be decent in a 40-35 series sized sidwall, but my 55 series side wall rolls over like a hooker
You didn't mention size?? Stock'ish size SPT 77$ each... http://www.discounttiredirect....UMHV7NOT ALL SEASIONStock'ish sized AST 67$ each...http://www.discounttiredirect....ar=50Somewhat all/no-seasion...I love DTD, they have great costomer service... my salesman Hector, when i called back to cancel my 512 order after reading so much crap about them said to me, "Try them out for a few days, if you truely don't like them, call me and i'll arrange UPS to pick them back up and we'll try somthing else, you just have to pay for the mounting and such, and price difference on another tire" !!! I didn't send them back, they are decent for the CRAPPY a$$ roads around here... and my Sube is at the dieing end of it's performance lifetime...
Wow that is a sweet deal on ebay for em.......got the falkens on my car now.....205/55/16's...love em...dont like how they are wearing though......these cars are to top heavy for a soft tire like these....i would recomend these tire.
LOVE THAT VIBE 2003 Satilite Silver auto.......188,000kms.2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer White 4.2 Inline 6 291hp auto.........156,000kms.
Its def. between the AST and the ASX. The AST tire looks a lot sexier, seems to get better ratings. I keep hearing about the treadlife and soft sidewall for the falken. The last 512 I had on the civic was fine, but that is a lighter car. AST Kumho205/50/16$260 shippedMy concern with these is the weight, it is 87 rating vs. the 91 I see on most other tires for my car. Is this an issue? ASX Kumho205/55/16$290Exact OEM size with a 91 rating.
Well, there you have it... I personaly only go for tires with a "rain" tread pattern, the roads here sux donky nutz and every time it rains hard we get those long shallow puddles down the highway and since i drive 45mi each way now to work, hydroplaning is a big concern for me.... BUT, if you are happy with the decision, i am happy with your decision.... i have a feeling you'll really like the Kumhos... and i would like to hear your "tire review" later after you get'em.... rock on
I will totally put a review after a few miles with them. I have never owned a set of Kumhos, the tires I have had in the past were as follows:Bridgestone Potenza RE950 (have a new name now)Best tire I ever owned, incredible performance!Toyo Proxe 4Not a bad tire, but soft sidewall Yokohama AVS ES100Good bang for the buck, but not an all season
Cool, i think you'll like the Kumho, good bang for the buck tire..... Not the best, but BY FAR not the worst... Might be hard to compair to the bridgestones. Is there any reasion your going with all-seasions rather than a summer/winter combo?? I just ask cause i believe STRONGLY in winter tires... it's been YEARS since i went a winter without my winter tires, and i'm very thankfull for it...
I don't have the cash to keep switching back. I did this with my Civic I had the Kelly snow tires on the steelies and kept my 17"s covered with Yoko's in the basement. Then switched off. But I really wanted to get the Goodyear Assurance this time, but for over $100 a tire, they are out of range right now. Oh, that and a good all season will be fine. I don't live in an area that gets ridiculous amounts of snow (at least not lately). Plus I have AWD And if the weather gets that bad and the snow that deep, we take the fience's ride, once again
yeah her car is sweet! But that light bar was a PITA to install. Took me four hours to get it in, it was a christmas gift two back. I took the car from her school one day, brought it home, got it back to her just as she got out, she was def. shocked. I had the whole dash ripped off, the headliner dropped down, 8 holes drilled into the roof, counting one that was 2.5" in diameter for the wires and relay. Then the engine bay feeding the wires through the firewall, removing the battery to get to the harnesses and fuse panel. And finally the switch plate to match. Looks great and is bright as day! We use it when we go camping and are setting up at night
Yeah Yeah.... that's nice, but what about the WOODY sitting next to it..!!!Just kiddin man... i like the liberty, i even considered one of thse light bars for my Subaru for a more "Rally" look, but i'm sellin her and gettin a Vibe...
