if you go in the back of the car, there is a compartment on the side right behind the tail lamp inside the car, remove the cover and there shows three screws and nuts, there is a white clip that is holding some wires, it just clips off and if it breaks no biggie. hope this helps, if not then i can go out and take a pic for you.

Thanks for the quick responce. Thw problem is that I look inside the compartment and don't see any screws. Now I'm wondering if I need to remove the entire panel inside the hatch area. What year Vibe are looking at?

It's easier to remove the panel.

I stand corrected,Nascarxprt was right. You have to shove your arm up threw that access cover.Feel around for the bolts. You will need a wrench to get at the nuts.

Or if you want to take the long route, here is how to get at it.I did this quick so,- remove the false floor, the nuts are in the tracks near the hinge- remove the tire tray insert, just unscrew the grey thing that holds the tray down and pull it out- Take out the cover over the other cargo box and unbolt everything in there and lift it out- pop out the quarter panel insert on the side and just gently pull on it by the edges, it will pop out. It's just held in by clips- reassemble the cargo area in reverse order. You don't have to remove the spare tire.

Easy when you know how to get the old one out. Thanks to all the job is done. Can't imagine how much a repair shop would have charged for that 5 minute fix...
