Hello everyone, I'm Mike from St. Louis. About 6 weeks ago I got a Wave base model '07 vibe with ~12k miles on it to replace my Taurus with 110k+ on it. I needed something with much better mileage (heavy driving year for me) and a lot of space (I haul photography and hockey gear often). So far, I've put about 4000 miles on him and I'm pulling down 33+ mpg highway, 29+ city. I love the way this car scoots.I found this site while looking for a way to prevent my lighter power from cutting out when I turn the car off. I found everything I needed here, you guys rock!I installed the rear lighter-style power spot using a $10 radio shack kit however I took a slightly different approach to bridging the relay. I went and bought a compatible relay for $13 from autozone (AZ part #41-5154) then hacked off the casing. I originally just electric-taped the contact down and I wish I would've stopped there. But, unwilling to leave well-enough alone I then ripped out all of the guts and soldered switched leads then taped the casing back on. I could then pull and replace the fuse without even removing the junction box so no having to remove that annoying top screw.Anyway, thanks for all of your help, this community is great!
