2004 GT Leak Front Passenger Area

Post by arimaas »

I just found this site trying to solve my problem with my 2004 Vibe GT. I tried following some of the advise of the other posts on the board, but not sure if I did it correctly or if they were referring to the 2004 GT model. I have a 2004 Vibe GT with a sun roof with about 33K miles on it. I had this problem once before, and tool it to the dealer, about 10 months after purchasing the vehicle. They said it was the sun roof leaking in. I called the dealer today and they said that I am no longer covered under warantee, even though I do have the extended warantee. After about two days of heavy rain, my front passenger side rug is soaked threw. I pulled up the carpet and tried to look for the "hose" everyone is talking about, but couldn't seem to find it. I did find some "gutter" looking like tubes. I opened them up, and tried cleaning them and found a pencil in there. Not sure if that was the problem, or what those gutters do, but hopefully that is the problem. I really don't want to take it back to the dealer, as now they want to charge me money, and I just replaced my entire clutch after 30K miles (another problem I am not alone with). Anyway, hope someone has some other advise, as I am not sure what is on the site already is for my 2004? Thanks for your help!Ariarimaas@gmail.com

the hose is behind the right kick pad. it runs down the A-pillar. when its nice open the sun roof and see if you have leaves or debri in the right front corner of the sunroof frame.the kick pad will pull right off once you remove a small plastic nut. you might also check your a/c heater drain which is up under the right side dash by the feet area it might be clogged. hope this helpsif you found a pencil somewhere its not suppose to be you might bet that was the problem.
