ISSUES BUT FINALLY SOME NUMBERS

Post by BLAQJAQ »

So after a week of issues ..seems like that should be my screen name (ISSUES)..ISSUES with first piggyback unit (sucked)...wwaiting for my turn in the que to get emanage blue wired (I'm too much of a novice)...then waiting in the que to get on the dyno ..be surprised how many guys are doing forced induction up here...finally get to the dyno...but after a couple pulls yesterday a computer crash with the dyno computer OH NOORE FRIGGIN ISSUES. luckly they were able to get the system up and running.I have my first real set of numbers...unfortunately I cannot get the graph off the dyno the computer was just acting up and would not print...but i will get it if they do a recovery of the horsepower graphs...they lost a tonne of info...(never seen a guy get so pissed in my life a Subie guy just about had a head explosion because he could not get his graph)...I did however write down what they were getting off the screen.Anyway, here is what I do know the base number off the first pull went like this...122.1whp at 101.8ft/lbs thought it would have been better with all the power adders but hey it is what it is...so with a few inputs on the emanage we tried our second pull well at least it was an attempted pull..the car would not fire....Seems that there is an issue with the emanage ignition harness and the factory wiring...with the emanage ignition harness in place car will not start...but the moment we "jumpered" the ignition signal without the ignition harness the car fired and ran smoothly...Yes that means we are not at max boost we sit right now at 6.5 pounds of boost... we were able to handle the air fuel ratios correctly..the MAF is definately a pain in the a** but having said that our second pull had us up to 148.2whp at 123.4ft/lbs...mediocre..so a couple other adjustments and a third pull we were able to hit with modest numbers of 163.4whp with 145.7ft/lbs.....I left some what pleased considering that things are at a moderate level with no internal changes..if we solve this ignition harness issue there is another 4/5 lbs of boost we can add once we can control timing....the whole one off boost application (Vortech) does come with a tonne of issues but i like the direction it is going inso does any one know of pin issues with ignition harness or ever had issues...post up and let me know I would appreciate it...I will continue to keep ya'll informed..a this never ending project continues...

Congrats on getting one step closer. Those numbers look promising.I may just catch up to you soon.Did you use the boomslang harness or did you hardwire it yourself.

good to hear! sorry, took me so long to reply. that sounds very promising. i tell you, after dealing with dynos the last week, they are so touchy. really hard to make them an exact science, so don't be discouraged. you can go back another day and pull completely different numbers!

i like that it's completely custom and not the typical cookie cutter mods.

ya its all completely custom....i not discoureaged by any stretch...I look at tuning as a marathon not a sprint...it will continue to develop..yes those number are at the wheels which is great as far as I'm concerned...could be better but considering that base line numbers were so modest..to get to 163 whp is a definite improvement that is additonal real 40 horses..and that was a conservative tune with igniton issues..so I think future is bright...
