Under 2003 Pontiac Vibe

Post by dejablues76 »

Hey Guys,In driving to work a truck blew a tire in front of me, and it shot out and I went up and over it with my 2003 AWD Vibe. Took out my front, passenger side fog light, and the plastic inner wheel well coverings. The right side is 100% in tact, but now since part of this casing is missing, and the cover isn't there -- it's constantly rattling. I have called EVERY dealer trying to figure out how to describe this part to them -- has anyone ever had a similar issue?- B

Seriously! The parts guys been sending me everything BUT that...this rattling is only happening on the highway (over 50 mph), so something must not be fastened in on the wheel well liner -- or so I am guessing!Already had the light replaced. Exactly that in cost.

you're probly missing some of the clips that fasten down the wheel well liner. I can't remember exactly how many there are but off the top of my head I'd guess 8 or so.Have you been by the dealer and shown them what is broken?

If you're not near a Pontiac dealer (or just don't like to deal with 'em ) I would suggest trying a body shop to get the part, however, I would think that any self-respecting mechanic would know what a wheel liner is Here, check out this thread http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=9923It has two sites you can get replacement parts from.

And now might be a good time to mention MiVibe-ToolGuy's nifty fog lamp protectors, to save yourself $120 the next time this happens! You should get in touch with him. Wait a minute.....I should get in touch with him. I still don't have these!Sorry to hear about your rotten luck deja--good luck getting the dealers to help you out!
