Navigation System / CD Player

Post by ibm135 »

I just bought a used 2004 Pontiac Vibe GT with the OEM Nav system and 6-disk under seat CD changer. The "Navigation/Radio Supplement" as listed in the owners manual was not included/missing with the car. The Navigation system map disk was present, but when loaded, it said "Unable to read disk, check to see if map disk OK" or something like that. The nav disk looks pristine and scratch free, so it doesn't seem like its a disk issue. Is there a trick to getting the Nav system/maps load/operate?Also, without that manual, I am really clueless how to operate the radio functions other than basic seeking of stations since there is nothing in the standard owners manual on this radio. Also, there was no CD cartridge for the CD changer. Can someone steer me to a source / part number to get a cartridge? I think the CD changer is made by Pioneer.Does anybody have a PDF copy of the Navigation/Radio Supplement manual they can email to me or post a link to?I would deeply appreciate any help in this manner. Thanks!

Nope, the 6-disk changer under the passenger seat is definitely a Pioneer - has Pioneer logo, etc. I assume this is a standard Toyota OEM part. The model # can be seen from the back (which is really facing the front under the passenger seat). The model # is: CDX-M8317ZT, or 86270-01010 per the label on the back of the unit.I can't find any info on the net other than the Pioneer website that says it is no longer available, and is an OEM car mfg unit. If anybody has one of these, can they look at their 6-disc cartridge and reply here with the part # on the cartridge and/or with any identifying characteristics?
