My other new toy :):)

Post by Merzbow »

So, since hte Ninja blew a cylinder from being over revved I bought myself my dream bike. Ducati Monster 620 Dark. I've wanted a Ducati for such a long time, not to mention I've wanted a bike in gerneral since I was about 5 years old. So here she is. A cellphone pic, I'll have better ones when I remmeber my camera.

if you don't mind me asking, how much did that thing set you back? i want to get a bike someday, but i will most likely get a cruiser type motorcycle. i can't see myself leaning over one of those tiny things. my back hates the thought.

Of course, one could argue that the girlfriend is a nice mod for the bike, too. Post pics of your "mods" when you get 'em!Nice bike, BTW.

haha thanks Like I said, they were custom built Harleys so I dunno what the hell was in them. The reason they beat my friend is because he couldn't ge this bike into gear and my bike is faster than his so I just decided to say they beat both of us lol.the Monster has a 1 inch handle bar raiser on it so it sits just like my ninja did. Hardly any leaning at all. Now if you were to go with a Ducati 749 or 999R THEN you would be leaning, same thing with most crotch rockets liike my friends GSXR you lean alot....my Monster you hardly hav eto lean forward at all and it's not hard on your back The seat could e a little more padded ot add some comfort because after the 45 minute ride to work every day my (removed) gets sore.

You must be a much better rider than your friend, even the little 600 gixer will run deep into the 10s.With regard to the cages, remember to ride like you are invisible and the minute you think you have the right-of-way, you may be dead right. Do you know what ATGATT and SQUID mean?

eah I heard the invisible thing before but no I don't know what those two things mean lol.Or you can drive really fast in an out of traffic until you aren't around anyone anymore and that's another option j/k lol. I just make sure I am seen and I stay out of blind spots at all costs...if it means going 20mph over the speed limit to get out of it then so be it.

Nice ride BTW^My 79 fx was a crotch rocket killer too,It had andrew racing gears, cam, drag pipes, delkron cases,Mikuni HS42 side draft with a custom intake, made by a good buddy of mine.I also built a few for customers,(I was a Harley mechanic for a few years)The bike was plenty fast and loud, but not reliable. But,the sound of a shovelhead made up for it all, except for the sound of a panhead.

My dad is currently building this beauty now with a custom turbo setup so we can start going to the track again.

10-4 on the 7 second race H-D. Can you imagine the piston velocity, with that long stroke, when they go thru the traps?

Doing the work himself and running his own business leaves him scrapped for time here lately. The Turbo is being mounted on the bottom left side of the tank. All this bike talk is starting to make me wish I could ride again. Guess there is always a trike.
