Camcon Installed - Again!!

Post by BlueCrush »

I hardwired my Camcon into my oem ECU harness wiring tonight. Only took 1/2hr and saved me $160 by not getting a Boomslang harness. I used the same location as before, Velcro'd in the glove box. lol. I'm using Dominator's(9thGen) settings for now until I can get a dynotune this summer. It pulls much harder from 3000-6000rpm. It feels great to have some additional power back again.

No laptop. I'd rather have the pro's do it.The install was pretty easy since I had done it once before with a PnP harness. It was a little tight spaced but I managed ok.

The Camcon is an Air Flow and Intake Cam controller. You can adjust both to gain maximum power while maintaining optimum A/F with mods or with a stock car. Dyno tuning is recommended. Look here for more info: http://powerenterpriseusa.net/...n.htm

That looks like a pretty sweet mod. How complicated is it? It looks a little daunting to me. I'm only really good at things that make my knuckles bleed, not electronics.

Camcon is the only piggyback that can tune VVT-i (Intake Cam timing). It cannot tune for VVTL-i though. It will not adjust your lift point on the 2ZZ engines. However it will still adjust the intake cam timing on the 2ZZ engine as well as A/F. It adjusts the A/F by tricking the MAF sensor into thinking there is more or less air entering the engine, therefore increasing or decreasing the amount of fuelsprayed out by the injectors to maintain the optimum A/F ratio. Dynotuning is highly recommended as everyone's set-up is different and will require a slightly different settings for optimum A/F. To start, use the Power Enterprise base settings ot try to find someone with the same mods as you and try their settings to see what feels better to you until you are able to get a dyno tune.

It's not too bad. The hardest part for me was cutting the ECU harness wires. I checked and rechecked to make sure I had the correct wires about 10 times. lol.

Look for deals to pop up on Ebay. These retail for Approx $300 + shipping. But, I won this one used in excellent condition for only $195 shipped.Dont forget to look for sales on MO, 9thgencorolla.com and NewCelica.org. Also on NewCelica.org there is a sponsor that was selling them for only $269 shipped. I think he might still have some left. Here is the link: http://www.newcelica.org/forum...amcon You will need to join to contact him.
