will it work?

Post by injun_josh »

dont get me wrong i love my vibe and when she hits the lift button its go time. but i utterly hate how slow it is before it hits lift. it's completely stock because money is a little tight right now, but it will not be very soon in the future. so my question is, say i do cai, header, exhaust, and unichip, am i going to be getting ALOT more low end power? that leads me to another question, has anyone ever tried to put the supercharger system from a vibe or matrix on a gt? i know that would give it a good kick in the pants. im really just wanting to know is this car really worth modifying? i guess this all stems from the fact that this is probably one of the slowest cars i have ever owned. not saying it's slow, just saying i am really used to fast cars. im not wanting this car to go 12s just wanting to know if really low 14s is possible and not gonna kill my checkbook.

Those mods you listed will help you a lot with power. There is no supercharger for the GT engine, though. There is, however, a turbo kit for it that produces a lot of power. ( http://www.turbokits.com/matrix_turbo_kits.html )The XRS is the same as the GT.

forget the header, your stock one is pretty kick (removed). if you have the money, get the turbo, then the car will definitely be fast.

Greddy makes a supercharger for the GT engine.http://www.monkeywrenchracing.....htmlPretty pricey though. I think you will need to cut your radiator fan shroud and relocate the alternator to fit in the non-Celica bay but I've seen it done on a 05 Corolla XRS. It'll require a lot of custom tuning and dyno time.Blitz alsa makes a centrifugal supercharger for quite a bit more.http://www.intensepower.com/blitcelgts0 ... ntercooler piping will have to be redone to fit your bay.

FI on the vibe GT will run 4000 or up new for the full kit. Unless you find someones used kit on genvibe or matrixowners or ebay has them too every once in a while.I think i twas tcam who got his gt headers ported by Boosted2.0 over on newcelica, I will be getting my base vibe headers done by him once he starts doing them again. I also got a throttle rotor by WeaponR that moves the throttle plug thing on your throttle rotor so that it takes less gas pedal movement to Wide open throttle (WOT) and that sort of helped, i was sqwuaking my tires at stops for a while after that install. If your going to keep the car for a little while, the bolt on are worth it imo.
