After needed to put my car in the shop to get it fixed, I needed my car to badly to not have it around. After talking to Pontiac Customer Assistance Center, for about 3 hours they agreed to pay for a rental car to use while mine is in the shop. The deal is:1. Have to set up an appointment with the dealership.2. Talk to the service manger about needing a rental, they will look at your car and see what is the problem with your Vibe .3. If you have a problem with the dealership, call Pontiac and tell them you need a rental, if they don't want to grant you a rental, talk to them about standing behind their product4. Once either the dealership or Pontiac gives the ok, take your car to the dealership on appointment day, they will call for the rentalAbout the rental1. They have to give you a GM product2. they can give you up to a mid class 3. They only give you 150 miles a day might change from rental company4. Pontiac does not like to pay for the rental for more then 3 days then they start bugging the dealership, so they will want to get your car done in that time if they canAs far as i know they will do this for the 36k/3y warranty, if you have an extended plan it would need to be written in the contract.I hope this information helps for all of you, was good to find out about this because i use my car almost everyday and can not really be without it for a long period of timeNot sure if it's in the right forum plz move if not.
The last time we left our Vibe for work to be done, it was not ready when promised. We bugged the service rep until he gave us a rental. We got a Nissan Quest and even got them to pay the gas as we live 50 miles out of town. The Quest used about 30% more gas than the Vibe.
glad you were able to get the rental. besides the no lift ( http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=28154 ) what else are they going to try to fix? When you get the vibe back, let us know what they had to do to fix the car.
the dealer told me they will pay for a rental if the vehicle is there overnight.any time I've taken my vibe in for warranty work, I've always planned on dropping the vehicle off the night before service and I've gotten a rental on them every time.
Well I had to give them a list. The trany starting to grind with the clutch all the down in 1st,2nd and revThe lift problemThe switches on the driver side went in to the door,The tray on the passenger seat the bottom half came out of the seat There is a dimple on the roof looks like a paint bubble and lol While the Tech was driving it to check it out he got back and said what's with the popping in the driver window they rolled it up then when it went down there was a loud pop and looked like the window was about to break in halfI talk to then today and they said they have not looked at it yet this is the 3rd time at the dealership1st was for a new radio, the cd player quit working 2nd was the when the clutch shattered both times they said they do not to rentalsi hope they get it done soon i miss my vibe

well.. this is not my month Other driver hit my rental car while it was parked at the shop, but did not say anything, I saw the damage to the car this morning and tried to retrace my stops. I knew i did not happen when I got off or when i was in the car. I had the manger check the tapes today while he was looking at them the driver came in, after i said someone hit my car he said ohh... it might have been me. I was him!! paint transfer all the way down his car. tried to call the cops but the said it was on private property and was yesterday so there is nothing the can do and on top of it the other driver don't want to give me hit insurance. so now have to pay out my pocket to fix it before I have to give it back, when they get my vibe done or it will hit my insurance unless my manger can find it on the tape to prove it was him. i hope this is the last of the 3 law
I seem to have a pretty nice dealership. I present them with the list of problems I have, if they don't think they can complete them that day (I drop my car off in the morning) they stick me in a rental. Some sort of agreement between the Enterprise right on site at the dealer and that dealership allows that Enterprise to upgrade me, for free, if they don't have anything in a mid-size sedan. So sometimes I go in and get a Buick Lucerne, sometimes I'll get a Tahoe, other times I've gotten a CTS, one time I got a DTS and once we bagged us a Suburban. This Enterprise doesn't charge mileage either. It was really convenient since we were going on a vacation, we just took the Suburban. The only thing I ever pay for are taxes and gas.

What is the status this week? Were you able to work it out so you don't have to pay for the damage to the rental car, and how is the Vibe repair coming along?
I called them today they are till waiting on a few transmission parts, they said hopefully put Friday it will be done , I miss it every time i see a vibe drive down the road. i don't like the raid in the grand prix and it suck gas like it's going out of style
I got my baby back today. was so happy to have it back. they did 3,600 dollars worth of work, replaced 1,2,3 and 4 gear and all the insides of the drivers door
I don't know what they did but I went for a cruise and I can't hear the engine any more, sitting on a quiet road and could not hear it unless i had my ear hood. It's sounds alot better now.
