I had an interesting idea today in math for a cool mod..Would it be possible to place 1 or 2 small LEDs behind the speaker openings in the doors? What would you wire those too to get power? In general, if you wanted to add LEDs to the car how would you go about powering them?
Someone around here did that... I can't for the life remember who it was, but they put alot of work into some blue LED's in his doors... but it looks awsome when done.Any one know who it was?
Nascar has the Dual Audio Illuminite door speakers that have blue LED's built in. He wired it to a switch on his center console where the coin holder is. Do a search for "Dual Audio" or "Illuminites" and his thread should come up.

This is a very easy and simply mod. You can buy the LEDs from any autoparts store that come in packs of 4 I believe. They all all set to be mounted and wired and you simply tap them into a constant power source. So for instance your radio, dash lights, headlights. Easiest way is to get a fuse tapper, its a little metal bent tab that goes over one of the fuse tooths, then simply run the black wire to a ground source on the car. (metal of course). Fish the wires through the rubber acordian in the door where the other wires go and when you pop off the door panel, find a mounting spot. You can use crazy glue, silicone (which I prefer because it is better with temperature changes and does not get brittle, or epoxy, hell even tape). Be sure to get either a flat LED or if its a round head type, sand it down a bit. This will help to disperse the light and give you the glow effect, rather than point light. there are a few LED sites as well that make good pre-made LEDs in any color.
