Hi all,I'm an X installer and always interested in the audio world... I'm about to get my first Vibe and i'm interested in what others are doing for systems... While descriptions are great, pics would be awesome... I'm planning on doing a pair of fiberglass enclosures, one on each side of the cargo area, I'm just not sure where I'm going to put the amps... maybe on the front of the hatch, below the window... that just poses a serious problem of running wire into the hatch... So anyone got some pics for me?? Thanks,Wind
Here is what I did in my hatch no glass but the amps might give you an idea. I mounted the amps to a piece of MDF and used the factory bolts to hold the MDF down.Aron

Care to share more pics?? What does the system consist of? I'm as interested in what people are using as i am seeing it... thanks to everyone so far for postin pics...
Thanks! My audio is all P.C. based. The screen in the dash is a 8.4" T-view monitor. Noone makes a 8" flipout (nor an attractive reliable 7" vga flipout IMO) Here is al ink to my P.C. worklog if you are interested.http://www.mp3car.com/vbulleti....htmlAudio wise I am usingZapco 500.1 subZapco 360.4 active on front stageZapco DSP-6 sound processorZapco CK16.2 seperatesElemental Design SQ10 sub.All stinger power wire and zapco symbililink from the processor to the amps and toslink from the P.C. to the processor.I made my enclosure from fiberglassing the inside of the spare tire cover (the big empty area in the black cover). So I could keep my spare tire. If you have any questions just ask. The only thing that I dont like is that the vinal is a different color then the interior and I messed the corners up around the amps.Aron

I'm guessing you have to be to have such great gear. Much kudos to you on the system... That is something i would like to hear... For some reasion i'm blocked from your worklog here at work, so i'll have to check it out later... Thank you,Aaron
Nope no profesional here I just like to do my own work. and audio is a passion of mine. I am thinking of losing the spare tire all together and doing 4 sq10's in the well ported. I will still beable to keep it flat in the rear and should be insane. but I am undecided on that at the moment.Aron

Audiovibe....Question, how difficult was it to get your components in your doors?? I'm mainly concerned with depth... ?Also, i just looked at the retail on those components... what did YOU get them for?? IM me if you like...Thanks,Aaron
They were a little tricky. At first they were in kick pannels but the pannels were HUGE!! I had to make 2 spacers one from 1/2in MDF and the second out of 3/4 MDF I secured the 1/2in piece to the door then secured the 3/4 ring to the first ring. I also had to grind down around the speaker hole on the inside of the door pannel to gain some clearence. It is still a real tight fit behind the magnent with the window down. The tweet is mounted in the apillar, but will be move to the kick with a 4"midrange. I got mine for $950 and tax, prior to these I was running the JL 653csi 3 ways and I can tell you that the zapcos will mop the floor. There is no listining fatigue with these which is a plus. I saw your other post about the pioneers and I will say I havent heard anything bad about them and I have wanted to hear a set since reading the review in car audio and electronics. They rated the pioneers very well. I based some of my zapco ck16.2 purchace off the review that Car Audio did, as that is what got me interested in the components. The pioneers are supposed to be a steal at that price. If you havent read the article in CA&E let me know I'll scan it for yaAron

Cool man thanks.... A quik note though, i don't know how much you have done with MDF, but them spacers you made WILL swell in the moisture, even if you sealed them up real nice... trust me, i had my Polks shorting out on me cause the MDF spacers swelled to the point of pushing the terminals aginst metal in the door... and they were painted really well... I LOVE ZAPCO GEAR, i could only dream about hearing your set-up... I had a set of Dynaudio almost bought and life priorities got in the way and i had to give them up... neve made it back to that point of audio nervania yet... but that was also when i was installing.... I read the CarAudio review among others... the raves about the mid-bass was all i needed to hear... i'm a mid-basshead... never enough... if i ever got the chance i would do 2 6.5" and a 5.25 and tweet in the door of something, just to get that "WAP" outta the 6.5'z
I feel you with that if you dont have midbass you dont have anything. Mid bass is real critical to me as my sub only plays to 50hz. My last system had dual 6.5 jl xr's a 4"xr and 2 tweets per side. I kinda thought about the mdf swelling when I made the rings and coated them with elemental designs liquid Edead, I also deadened the whole door to seal it up. I plan to build a door insert for the 6.5 to sit in after I do my kicks.Dynaudio makes some great top notch stuff. I hear ya about life priorties, you save for solong and once you have enough to buy the toys something else need imediate attention. But now that Im almost done I just hope the wife dosent find the reciepts, or Ill have a new life crisis.Aron
