I left to go to Lowes to grab a few things, and fill out an application. Well I'm on the highway going to town and I come up on a truck painting new stripes on the road...no signs, no warnings... wind blowing strong and my passenger tires hit the shoulder a few times. I get to lowes and go to the passenger side of my truck to grab my phone that fell out of its holder and I see this ****...Can this be removed or am I looking at a repaint?I had my camcorder in my cupholder and video recorded the road on the way back showing no signs, and the paint truck having no escort. I almost hit the damn thing the 1st time because of no warning and I popped a hill with him goin 5mph. I was behind him for 7 miles before he finally let me and the ppl behind me around him. Some tool behind me in a black Lexus passed me and the sprayer with the paint still spraying and the wind blowing paint everywhere....I'd love to see that car now.

I don't know, but I'd say try to get off what you can as soon as possible, before it really hardens. That road paint is some tough stuff. If you can't chip or peel it off, I doubt there is much you can use that won't take off the red paint also.I had a similar thing on a different vehicle, it still had a white wheel well when I got rid of it years later.
It was as hard as a rock by the time I got home. Its that crap that has glass beads in it for reflection at night. I couldn't even bust that balled up peice on the front fender off with my knife. Such BS...

My mom had overspray on her BMW, but the local carwash was willing to claybar it for $180...they do a much better job than even I can do with a claybar and it removed all the overspray. I can't see the photos at work (no access to photobucket or other sites like that), so I can't see how bad it is, but trying a claybar won't hurt anything...

My father and I were under the truck for an hour and no go. The glass beads are hell. I'm gonna have to see if he will pull his Harleys out of the garage so I can pull the truck in and try and wet sand it and buff it out. I couldnt even get the paint off the exhaust with Stainless Steel polish pads.

Is it paint or is it something else?A couple of years ago I had an incident at work where they were painting (powder coating) some structures just beyond the parking lot at work and the wind carried the spray over the entire parking lot. Every car in the lot had little blue specks all over them.I picked up a can of "OOPS" and wiped over the car with it. Every bit of it came off, and it didn't hurt the clear coat on the car.You may want to pick up a can of it and test it in some unoticable spot to see if it works. The car was a Chevy Beretta. So, same make as what you're driving, though it was a 95, so the paint GM uses has probably changed since then. This is what I used...http://www.homaxproducts.com/p....html
crap that sucks! I went to wash my car the other day and notice little white streaks around the fenders and down the lower cladding then I remembered going thru a spot in the road where a paint can had apparently fallen off a truck or someting... luckily I was able to just pick at it and it came off. My wheel well is still speckled and streaked tho... I couldn't get it to scratch off of the plastic I hope you're able to get that off your truck without too much trouble and let us know how it goes.

Since it is on videotape, it would be hard to dispute against your claim.I had at one time put through a claim for damage from a pothole, and the city honored it.
That which may be known of God is evident within man, for God has shown it to them, so that they are without excuse.(Romans 1:19-20) What do you want most in life?
I called them and put in a claim, and also e-mailed them the video. I finally got ahold of a friends dad who owns a bodyshop and he told me to use WD-40 and let it soak, then if that does not work try vasalene. I put WD-40 on last night but 10 minutes later it started pouring down rain and now still is...hopefully it stops so I can try it again, I cannot get it in my garage atm.

i was going to suggest the wd-40 bit... I know it would take of spray paint if some one did that to your car/trucklet us know the end results of the wd-40

WD-40 did nothing. The Vaselene didnt do anything either. So now I unbolted my runningboards and fenders and have them soaking in mineral oil. A few more shops recomended that so if this doesnt work...repaint is the last option. I only have a $50 deductable on the truck but I dont want to be without a vehicle for a while.

Sigh, looks like it be goin to the shop. That **** will not come off. I ended up saying to hell with it and getting a power sander and sanding the pieces down to be repainted. I need to buy a new stainless polishing wheel so I can see if it will come off of my exhaust. That I dont wanna buy.

we need to find a way to hook up those guys out at NUMMI with the road paint people, a bunch of vibers wish the paint that is supposed to be on their cars was that tough.
Paint removal can be a hassle Here is what to do:Clay bar the area and wash good to remove the excess paint.Once that is done get some Goo Gone, a microfiber towel, and be prepared for a lot of work. Soak the spot with the Goo Gone, then soak the towel and rub rub rub rub rub rub rub rub rub rubOnce it is all off, put a coat of swirl remover over it, then wax. You should be all set )
