Question

Post by charhorse »

When I picked up my car I noticed when I got home the dealer had placed a sticker-decal on the back hatch. Does anyone know of a safe way to remove it without damaging the paint surface

I hate those dealer ads, and removed the one on my car. Seems like Goo Gone has been used by a lot of people to remove sticky crap without any damage to the finish, so peel off what you can and then try that to get the rest, and be sure to wash and wax the area afterwards.

When I took delivery of my Vibe, they had stuck a dealer emblem on it. It was apparently placed while the car was going through prep, because it wasn't on there when I test drove it. I had them remove it on the spot before I would complete the deal, unless they wanted to discount the car another $500 for advertising, which they chose not to do.

Yeah I just made sure they didn't put one on mine, only a license plate bracket which I still sport even though I'm now here in alaska and my Vibe was purchased at Gord Anderson's GM village back in Woodstock ON.

I use a hairdryer and a fingernail. It hadn't been stuck on there for very long and it came right off when it got heated up a little. Some rubbing alcohol to get any glue off and you would never know it was on there.

I just used my finger nail to remove mine. Then used goo gone to clean up any stickyness left on the car.
