I tried to do it without removing the dash, but it was well worth the hassle of pulling the dash - MUCH EASIER...that's all I can really say...way too difficult to do without removing the dash.By the way, welcome to genvibe!

Curious, why does yours need replaced? Ever since I turned the AC on this year a week ago, I get a 'clicking' noise from the dash, like a vent keeps opening and closing. It goes away if I turn on the cabin recycling button thingie.

Bingo! That was what prompted me to replace it DopeVibeGT...the limit switches burn out on the actuator and it sits there and continues to try and open and close the damper. The part is between $35 and $50 (different Pontiac dealerships) and believe it or not it wasn't cheaper at Toyota in my neck of the woods.I put in some photos on here somewhere...
