One Year Today

Post by nygiantzz1 »

It has now been 1 year since I bought my Vibe. So far, so good. 13,545 miles and not a single problem. I am very happy with my decision to buy this car. As great as the car is, the Genvibe forum is even better. There is no other place on the web where you can get so much information, meet new people and laugh your (removed) off all at the same time. I love the car and I love Genvibe. Thanks for a great year, I hope there will be many more.

I hope you did something special for it.

Of course I did, I went to Highbridge Mobil and got a nice New York State Inspection Sticker. it looks great on the windshield and keeps the State police happy.

GM put a good engine in the Sunfire. I used to have a Cavalier with, I'm assuming, the same engine. That car lasted for 260,000+ miles without any real problems. It would probably still be running but my nephews girlfriend wrecked it last year. I hope my toyota engine lasts that long.

My sunfire GT engine (2.4L) was a great engine. No issues with it. I replaced a battery and the exhaust flex pipe from the header to the cat but that was it. The Vibe 1.8L engine seemed pretty good too. I never got 200,000 miles on it though... more like 45,000km but strong that whole time.

I think I also replaced the lower control arm bushings and lubed the strut bearing on the front to get rid of a clunking noise. The car was great. I could get from Woodstock to Montreal on one tank of gas with average speeds of 130KM. I kinda missed that sporty little compact which was why I opted for a sedan this time around instead of waiting for an 08 hatch STi.
