unless you know what you're doing with a turbo timer, DO NOT get one. people will over boost and blow up their cars (not warrantied) with them. best bang for your buck is going with a proven engine management. what vehicle is this for??

i though the timer was for letting you take the key out, but lets the car run for a few mins to cool down the engine?

*edit*i'm thinking of a boost controller....Quote »Turbo timerFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaJump to: navigation, searchA turbo timer is a device designed to keep an automotive engine running for a pre-specified period of time in order to automatically execute the cool-down period required to prevent premature turbo wear and failure. After a period of driving when a turbocharger has been working hard, it is important to let the engine run at idle speed for a period of time, allowing the compressor assembly to run down in speed and cool from the lower gas temperatures in both the exhaust and intake tracts. At the same time the lubricating oil from the engine is able to circulate properly so the turbine won't burn the lubricating oil that would otherwise be trapped within the charger with the turbine rotating at high speed. With regard to modern automotive turbochargers, the need for a turbo timer can be eliminated by simply ensuring the car does not produce any 'boost' (during driving) for several minutes prior to the ignition being shut off.

well in most cases the turbo timers installed on subarus also come with boost control... not sure about a Vibe one though.

thank you for the help, I look at viper. I was going to get an alarm so i had a remote to open the doors, i am worried about the turbo over heating because i going to use the laser for work to keep some miles off the vibe, i so used to jumping out and turning off the car so i been looking in to these.
