Hi All,I'm in the process of buying my first car, a Vibe, but the dealer made a mistake in the order and put down two-tone Neptune (dk blue) instead of two-tone Salsa. Production is done for the 2007s and there are no two-tone Salsas in a 1000km radius. Do I go for the two-tone Neptune or the regular Salsa? Thanks, mtlchick
Welcome to GenVibe, mtlchick! I prefer the monotone look vs. the 2-tone. IfI had the choice, I would go with the monotone Salsa over the 2-tone Neptune. Good Luck and let us know what you choose.

Depends on how important color really is to you. I prefer monotone, and would thus say Salsa, but then again I wanted a monotone GT with Moon and Tunes and just the 16" alloys (no sense throwing money into those 17's)...lo and behold it came down to a Lava Vibe that met those requirements...and I wanted Neptune...By the way, welcome

As much as I would prefer neptune over salsa, I'd go with the Salsa. I like the monotone look a lot better than the 2 tone. You also mentioned the sunroof. If you can afford it and it's available, go for the sun and sound package. The sunroof is nice and the upgraded stereo is pretty good for a factory system.
Thanks everyone!!!I'm in Canada and I don't see the sun and sound package available on the gm website...I'd have to get them seperately. Not Sure the upgraded stereo really interests me, though...
Welcome to genvibe. With GM in order to get the sunroof, you have to upgrade to the Sun and Sound Package. I prefer the look of the monotone vibes, I say go with your gut. If color is a big deal for you then go with your first choice.Good Luck.
I'm confused. THe dealer has a two tone neptune, and a monotone salsa, or did you think you were ordering a monotone salsa but since they don't have one, they are trying to sell you a two tone nepune> Are there two cars actually there and you are trying to decide between them? If one has a sunroof and one doesn't, what other differences are there in the options on each? and which color has which option?what is the difference in price betweeen the two?
Here's the scoop...A twotone Neptune with power package and Monsoon stereo has been ordered. We had spoken about Neptune but I finally decided on Salsa, but he forgot when he ordered. I also wanted an MP3 auxillary input, he thought it came with the MP3 deck and to get it you gotta get the big stereo, which I don't need. Well, there is no auxillary in the MP3 deck, so that's an extra $1000 for something I don't need. The reason I'm still considering the Neptune is that i really like the two tone. There are many monochromatic, power package Salsas around town, and one with a sunroof shouldn't be too hard to find. It's just the twotone that's impossible.
I haven't seen that many vibes around actually. There's a Neptune on my street, though. Still undecided. Thinking about Salsa with sunroof if I can find itThanks everyone for your input!
I thnk that it is important to get what you want. For most people, the cost of a new Vibe is a lot of money. If you have the luxury of being able to wait and find what you really want, then do that. After spending that amount of money, you want to look out your window at your new car and have it be what you really wanted, not what you had to settle for.
I had a great reply that was eaten, so I'll try again.First off, which features matter most to you? that's a huge deal.My dealer was able to find what I considered the perfect car, every option I desired, AND lava red, what I got in perfect feature match, I gave up in bargaining power.Had I been willing to take the loaded Frosty with leather on the lot, I would most likely have saved about $2k

Thanks for everyone's input, it was VERY much appreciated. I CHOSE.....Monochromewith Sunroof (not sun and sounds in Canada)Limo window tintNEPTUNE!!!!!The Sunroof more than makes up for not having two-tone, I like the twotone better in Salsa anyways...took me an hour at the dealership to decide Delivery this Firday at 2pm!!!!WOOOOOHOOOOOO
I am all for coming up with reasons why a decision, once made, was the best choice, so one of the problems with the gray cladding is that it looks nasty if you get wax on it. You won't have to worry about that with the monotone. There's an advice for new owners thread, hasn't been updated in a while though.

I chose the gray cladding because I don't have to worry about paint chips. I just felt it was my duty to defend gray cladding. Neptune is a sweet color. Enjoy!
