LOL not gonna happen. If I race her, I'll sand bag like we're on pinks so I'll lose. Cause if I win she'll wanna spend more of our money on her car Autocross is different. I don't hold back with that because its not a fast car that makes you fast at autocross.saw two trucks loaded with new subarus this morning... no white STi though...

Quote, originally posted by Mavrik »uh, prove to me I'm the first person on this board who paid for, sold their vibe and bought something else, said so on here... and I'll agree with you.not what I meant. My comment was about the thread title "My Vibe is paid off" When I first read the title, I thought cool, Mav has no car payment. That's the responsible thing to do. Turns out you just rolled it over into a new loan. (I asssume, you never answered my question) Didn't title the thread "Sold my Vibe" or "traded for a subie" My point was, you posted what appeared to be a deliberately tricky thread title, so that opens you up for some harrassment back. It was meant in fun. I seem to have offended you, but I wasn't trying to, meant no harm. I did not go into my opinion on your selling the vibe and buying a subaru, it is certainly not something I would have done, but our circumstances are different. For one thing, I could buy the same subie and pay cash, but I asssume you had to take out another long term loan to finance the new car. Seems like it would have been a lot more responsible to be happy with a perfectly fine car, and try to get out from under a car loan. Still if I had to buy a new car , it wouldn't be a subaru, it has zero US content, and gets worse gas mileage, two things that go against my political values. Fine. We are all different, we all want different things out of our cars, that is why they sell so many different kinds. I don't even care about all the "subaru is god's gift" posts that permeate this vibe/matrix site. I know what is important to me in a car, and the things that subaru is praised for are not priorities for me, I don't want one. Vibe is better for me than any subaru. And I have no car payment.

Not offended at all. Just trying to keep this from turning into a vibe vs subaru bash because that was not my intention. I know everyone has a different opinion of vehicles... I know I do, I'll never buy a Ford. Its just that simple. I plan on keeping this car for a LONG time. Truth be told, yes I love my Vibe but I bought it as a cheap way of getting a line of credit without buying a sunfire lol. I worked for GM at the time and wanted something new and cheap. The Vibe was it.Yeah I can't wait to post pics as well because that would mean I'd have my car lol

At least the antenna comes painted, all I have to do is stick it on! Maybe it will actually get done, unlike the caliper paint, SS AIC1 (needs to be tuned and a new clip), tranny cooler, decal kit, hood pins, windshield squirters, uhhh, I know there's more!

we work hard. nothing wrong with that. being that we've given up a lot of things towards are goals:get married. in 4-6 mos, Phil moves to US and goes thru immigration processonce here, go through pwk processMove Phil's stuff overPhil gets a jobHope gets new job making much more money than previous jobPhil works hard at his job and is now there just under 2 yrs, building customers and clientsBuy house within 2 yrs of moveBuy STI within 3-6 mos of houseHope quits job and starts own business doing the same but with more profitSTI is boughtHope's car will be next.... within 1 yr, hopefully pay off LGT and pick up STI hatch for the new business.i work 70-80 hrs a week. Phil works 40-60 hrs a week. we see each other minimally right now because we both are trying to get these things done. we value our time together so when we get the chance to spend some time together, we try to enjoy it. we both happen to love cars, racing, and other interests that we can now do together. it's called sacrificing and saving. buying things when we have it and know exactly what the budget allows.

I salute Phil and Hope for their accomplishments My wife and I are in a similar boat, but it does take HARD work and more importantly, teamwork. No need for sour grapes in this thread.
