http://www.drivefans.com/index...mid=1h ... ve/Seeings how I am a very big fan of Firefly, and Tim Minear and Nathan Fillion were apart of that show I am pretty excited about it. But am also a bit freaked. It is on Fox, whom canceled Firefly. And will no doubt pit it against CSI or something like that. Expect the worst and hope for the best I guess.
Fox is such a bunch of pricks. After cancelling Firefly they have the chutzpuh to tout it under Tim Minear's creds. If they think it's something to proud of that they've got Firefly's producer, why did they cancel it? Jerks.

Oh, you know the game where you have to try to describe a movie/TV show as a cross between two other movies/shows? Here's Drive in a nutshell:"Speed" meets "The Cannonball Run"
Firefly was one of my all-time favorite shows. It was actually original. I wish they'd bring it back.

LOL...my wife was reading this thread and said, "It's great that they're getting Nathon (the captain on Firefly) back. They should put the rest of the cast in the show and rename it 'Firefly'."I'm still reeling from the "two brothers in a...Impala"

And tell your wife I agree with her.
(removed)..I got so caught up on the "two brothers" that I completely missed the "female stowaway". Good call, redlava.I'm afraid this is going the way of Lost...too many possible storylines to keep together for more than a couple seasons.
this show came in under the radar for me...i didn't even read this thread!!watched the 2 hours last night and my wife and i were hooked...it's pretty interesting...cheesy special effects on occasion and it does jump around a few story lines.has anybody ever read "the Longest walk" by Richard Bachman (Stephen King)? This show reminded me of Longest walk meets running man....
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!
That's right, you Canadians got to see it early. There should be an additional episode for you guys either on Sunday or on it's regularly scheduled time on Monday. So don't miss that one.
It got my attention. I'll keep watching. I watched because I like the Firefly guy. I would like to see more cool cars, though.I had to laugh during the one night scene when the left tail lights on the Impala weren't working. I used to have a '63 Impala, and I had the hardest time keeping all six tail lights going at the same time. I was always having grounding issues.

That's why my TiVo, and before that, my VCR, came in handy. I thought it was a great premier. And FOX decided to air the episodes in order this time, so that was nice. I found that blond chick (Ivy) to be rather annoying, I was actually looking forward to her being shot. But alas, it never happened.

The resolution between guy in the pick-up and the blonde was both rushed and forced (names of characters escape me at the moment). There does seem to be some cheesiness about storylines and sfx. But, all in all it was okay--- I'll watch it again to see how it progresses. It's entertaining enough.

I am SO hooked on this show. And now there's this excellent R/T Challenger in the mix? I had better get TIVO or I'll have to resort to the old VCR for recording Heroes.

Drive has bumped Heroes from the #2 spot of my favorite active shows. Still well behind Lost, but that's a damn good show. Looks like Nathan has his own secrets.
Ok so I caught sunday's 2 hour special on FOX. seems ok but the bimbo minivan mom bugs me a lot. A lot of characters to follow too. I missed monday's show... what happened?

Watch the episodes here. http://www.myspace.com/driveonfoxAlex got a car upgrade, a '72 Challenger, his old car. And we found out that he used to be a wheel man for bank robbers before getting married and leaving that life behind. That was the main event, a few other less significant plot twists as well.

They have to get the cars race ready with the tools and parts made available to them. Plus they need to catch the eye of sponsors like Quaker State, No Fear, Bridgestone and so forth. Each team gets a different sponsor based on who the sponsor picks. first episode seemed pretty cool. Now I got a few shows to keep track of. Setup, Bullrun and Drive lol

When they say you are out of the race they freakin' mean it.The thing I want to know is what is going to happen to Rob and Violet to keep them in the race. Will it be greed or will Rob realize that deserting is a little bit better than 20 years in Leavenworth.
One thing I have learned about Fox is that if 15 million people don't watch the first episode then it will pretty much get axed soon after. Drive had about 6 million every week. Not bad, but not great either. The final two unaired episodes are supposed to be shown in May.
Here you go Mavrik. Fox has impounded "Drive," steering the show off the network highway after four episodes.Despite decent reviews, "Drive" quickly stalled, averaging just a 2.3 rating and 6 share among adults 18-49, and 5.6 million viewers overall.Monday night's "Drive" didn't help matters, coming in fifth place for the hour (1.5/5) and driving "24" to record lows, dropping Fox to fourth for the night.Having shoved a Denver boot on "Drive," Fox has now gassed up "House" repeats in the Monday 8 p.m. slot.Net is still mulling whether to burn off the last two remaining segs of "Drive" on air, or stream the final segs online.Fox revved up six segs of "Drive," which revolved around a group of people forced to take part in an illegal cross-country race. Nathan Fillion stars.Tim Minear and Ben Queen created and exec produce "Drive," which comes from 20th Century Fox TV. Greg Yaitanes also exec produced. Still a little bit of hope yet that somebody else may pick it up, but with poor ratings hard to imagine that anybody would risk it.
Poor Nathan. Thay guy can't seem to catch a break. I really liked Firefly, but I guess that show never caught on either.

As a quick follow up to this, Fox released it's May Sweeps lineup and Drive has officially been pulled. I'm not certain that they will even air the final two episodes that were filmed (they filmed 6 total). These things have a way of turning up in the internet, though. So, if they do, we can probably find them there at some point.
Fox has said that the final two episodes filmed will air on July 4th back to back starting at 7 pm Central. That's the Fox I know and hate, airing the final two episodes of a show that never really took off on the biggest summer holiday. They will probably see the bad ratings and be like "See, it's a good thing that we canceled this show. People didn't want to skip BBQ's and fireworks and parties to watch this show." Great decision guys.

Holy Hell!! How many times can Fox cancel this show!? The date for the final two episodes has been moved from July 4th to the 13th, now they have been removed completely. Hopefully they will at least put them online so I can watch them cause they sure as hell seem to not want to put them on the tube. Give us some American Idol repeats or a Go Fish game show instead.
